Welcome all to the Sunday Cat thread, brought to you every week, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK first started the thread on 23rd September, 2007. Management of the thread over the years has been turned over successively to John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J (with an assist by StanTsui ) and since September 2016, long time lurker, me.

Coiled Kitty of the Week!

Rory, all wound up and ready to spring! :-D

In Memoriam

Sweetie

Though small in size, the imprint they leave on our lives is huge.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us. Come one, come all; all cats and cameras welcome. Add your favourite cat shot to the collection. No time limits, taken any time, any place, any camera."
Posting time for the thread is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, I may sometimes start the thread earlier, later, or even on time (!) to accommodate my schedule. If I am late, feel free to grab the reins and start the next thread. A PM letting me know that you have would be appreciated.
Last week's purrs, #589
It is so hard to believe that these kitties were once throwaways! They're all so striking, each in his or her own way. But especially Bessie, with those sea-green eyes in her copper-bronze face . . . I'm so happy for them that you are able to give them a good home!
I did not ask their names but the shop owner said she feed them everyday. They are warm, dry and they have each other. Many cats have far more difficult lives.
Thank you for featuring Sweetie in the thread-starter.
Here are my remaining three. These are old pictures when they were in their prime. Alas they are all young seniors now.
Peanut
Puddin
And last but never least:
Nortie
Thanks for looking.
It's just unimaginable that these kitties were once on the pound's death row. How can anyone look into their eyes and think that they should not live?
They clearly have a relationship with one another. It reminds me of Cali, who would dote on other kitties. She'd groom them and cuddle with them to keep them warm. Maybe she did this out of habit because she had been a mom cat several times over before she was trapped and altered.
She's a cutie! That second one really shows off the double row of spots she has on her underside. Her collar looks a lot like the first one I got for Mini-Me, with a breakaway clasp. The first several times I put it on him he had it off within seconds! Eventually though he got used to it so I'm probably ready to add a tag to it now.
What a lovely cat family! Peanut is a very striking kitty. Nortie seems to have such a trusting look. Puddin looks to be much more interested in something, anything, other than posing! ;-)
Scratching the tum tum, always a tremendous act of trust. :-)
A rare moment when he was still long enough to allow me to (almost get into) focus. The divot in the fur on his leg was from a recent visit to the vet. He had an infection but it's all better now. :-)
He's looking a little like he's saying, "welcome to my kingdom!"
Tell Kraken that Mini-Me is envious. His outings are usually much shorter!
