After the release of the EM1X I noticed that many here do not care anymore that a camera can weigh close over 2 pounds.

So here is an interesting comparison.

I for one prefer my cameras below that.

And the G9 looks like the little sibling with the small sensor and smaller body. Cute.

Do it with lenses with equivalent FOCAL LENGTH on.
it has AI AF that can detect cats and dogs....no trains though so i have no idea what Panasonic was thinking
I agree!!!! I love photographing my train romping around in the backyard or playing with the other trains at the train park. Panasonic isn't catering to my needs!

Try comparing the cameras with vertical grip attached. E-M1X is for people who use lenses big enough or need long battery life that a vertical grip is permanently attached to their camera anyways.

If you never use a vertical grip or very rarely do so, then it's obviously not the camera for you.

Think outside the box guys, it also detects humans and birds so if can see the engineer of the train and/or a bird is hitching a ride on the train you're in business!

We are comparing only the bodies here. Maybe when there are more lenses for the system we can try to compare it.
And lets not talk about equivalence again. It never ends well. LOL!
Camera bodies that can take photographs without lenses. That would be nice. Maybe we can also compare cars without engines.

you can actually take a pic without a lens.........might try it in an abstract challenge for a laugh

If I can ignore equivalence, then I will take an E-M10 Mk III with the 12-40 f2.8 and have a camera which can actually take reasonably good photographs and weigh less than the new Panasonic.

Unfortunately the Panasonic with a 24-80 f2.8 lens, while weighing more, should offer better IQ, especially in lower illumination.

its very simple, if the EM-1X doesn't meet your needs buy another that does, there are many options to choose from after all (its a great time to be a photographer :) )

So much to learn, so little time left to do it! :D

No equivalence, just want to get the true view of the SYSTEM. Nobody just buy a body.
He wouln't have bought the Em1x in the first place.
