I have to admit, I'm a little frustrated I bought my XT-3 + 16-55 when I did -- in the beginning of December. I absolutely love my new camera but it sorta bothers me I could have saved $200 if I exercised a little patience. The problem was I thought the time for deals was November/December, apparently not. I didn't foresee the price drop so soon for the XT-3, nor did I see a bigger sale for the 16-55 than what I bought it for. On top of this, they're basically giving away the X-H1 in Happy Meals these days.

My camera and lens are still within B&H holiday return window. I could conceivably return them and re-purchase at $200 savings. I would NEVER do this -- the camera and lens are mine for good -- but would B&H somehow honor these discounts to my recently purchased gear?

I doubt it. I'll live. Believe me, I'm still savoring every bit of my Fujifilm initiation.

Write them, give them your order numbers. If you are within the return period they will generally give you the refund.

I switched system last fall and am a two months out on some of these, but that's o.k. On the other hand during the fall they had an additional $100 off on one item and they gave it to me, no problem at all.

I'm tempted, too, by the new prices though I just spend a fortune switching systems. Heck, I've been eyeing the 50-135 indie filmmaker lens and I'm not sure why! :)

I thought I read someone just called BH about a lens they purchased and BH gave them a $150 credit.

It's worth a shot, at worst they tell you no.

I've been considering the XF 8-16mm zoom for some time and I'm glad I waited - the $500 rebate made me push the button. I'm really excited about the possibilities of this lens!

Nov / Dec is final 2 months for fiscal year for most North American companies.

Feb / Mar is final 2 months for fiscal year for most Japanese companies.

Rumor is that Fujifilm cameras hasn't been meeting their targets for this fiscal year - so one last push to try and make their numbers.

Depending on how well they do on this sale - there maybe more coming...

Ask, drop an email to the B&H customer service ([email protected])!

End of last year I was in the same situation. I purchased the X-T3 and the 16-55mm f/2.8 on November 21st, when the lens was USD 999, means with a discount of USD 200. On December 13th I received a promotional email from B&H for Fuji gear, in that case promoting savings of USD 100 for the camera and additional USD 75 for the lens.

I contacted them by chat and they immediately applied the additional savings for the lens retroactively to my order. To get the savings for the camera was a little more effort, there their system first didn’t accept it. But after several emails forward and backward with their customer service, in there proving that the savings would apply for both products when simulating a purchase, I finally also received that saving retroactively.

From my point of view B&H has a great customer service and orientation. Dropping them a mail will cost you 5 minutes and may earn you USD 200 in the best case and may lose you just the 5 minutes if they cannot apply these savings anymore, for whatyreason, to your purchase.

By the way, I always do these things in written form, less for evidence than to have the chance to stay always calm and friendly! ;)

Well glad I asked!

Thanks for the all advice everyone, I will shoot B&H an e-mail.

B&H got back to me this morning and refunded me $200. Incredibly generous!

I had purchased 16-55 from Amazon for $1030 and i just called them.

They refused to refund the difference. So i am returning the lens to Amazon and getting one from B&H today. B&H seems more flexible and customer friendly (?)

How recently did you purchase the lens? I know Amazon owns this site so I don't want to bash a vendor I have done plenty of business with. Amazon, nor B&H is obliged to honor these discounts, I am very fortunate and grateful that B&H did. What's great about this experience is that I told B&H I had no intention of returning the items and re-purchasing them at the cheaper prices, yet they still refunded me.

Just literally spent two minutes sending email to B&H explaining my situation with 16mm 1.4 i ordered 12/24. Got $100.00 difference back and accurate reward point explanations. Quick resolution and great customer service yet again from B&H. Was not pushed to buy anything or use store credit as the only option. Extremely fair.

i had purchased on 12/28 and my return date is still 1/31.

Amazon's customer service is good no doubt, my experience in the past has always been good. they have been helpful in solving my problem in the past but looks like it's their policy not to do a price match.

These stories are why I deal with B&H almost exclusively for both new and used gear.

Yes, B&H now have my business for good.

I will say I had a very pleasant experience at Adorama in early January, as well. I was in pursuit of a case for the aforementioned kit. I didn't bring my camera and since these outfits don't keep the lens hoods on hand, it was hard to audition cases. Salesman William from Adorama was willing to open a brand new 16-55 for the end of helping me find a proper fitting case. I told him it wasn't necessary, but I was taken aback but his overall helpfulness that I was compelled to buy a spare battery right then and there.

That is so good to hear! I'll be sure to copy this to William - and to our store Director. I know they will both be delighted.

Didn't think this post would fall on the eyes of an Adorama rep. Glad William will get some recognition. Is he the only William there?

They did the same for me. I was told their policy is to make adjustments like this if its within the return window. This is a smart policy rather than expect people to return and re-buy the products. Less hassle for the buyer and B&H doesn't have to deal with taking back the return and selling it as an open box special or whatever product category a returned item falls into.

I did that once within the 30 days when the item went on sale and got the difference refunded. Easier for them to do that then deal with the return.
