nikon d3500 compatible wireless shutter remote control

Have you tried Snapbridge? It is free, when it works.

The other options are relatively costlier.
yes i tried but's it's slow and some connection problem also.

so i want remove like infrared remote or bluetooth remote but i don't know compatibility.
It also requires a second device, a major PITA and additional expense.

What you really want is a D3300. It works with the wireless IR remote and also has a plug for a wired remote. Because it has this important plug, it's compatible with lightning detectors and intervelometers.

Yes. Snapbridge could do with some (a whole lot, actually) improvement.

The D3500 has no IR sensor, though Nikon supplies an external trigger, which is costly.

There are cheaper third party remote triggers. I do not know if they work using Bluetooth, though IR based triggers are common.

The hardware comes in two parts - a sensor which is attached to the camera body, and a trigger held by the photographer.

Google is your friend. A search on the Internet will give you reviews, compatibility information, and sources.

Maybe those on the list who have experience with third-party triggers will be able to comment.

I would still recommend using your smartphone, first, before spending any money.

I recently got a D3500. If wireless is essential, the Nikon SnapBridge app seems to be our only option. I haven't been able to get Live View to display on my phone, but the remote shutter release works for me.

If you have a USB-OTG adapter/cable, I recommend the QDSLRDashboard app for PC and mobile. The D3XXX cameras aren't officially supported, but basic functionality works for me. Live View and video recording don't work, but you have full control over the basic camera settings and you can use the built-in bracketing feature. I think it's well worth the $9 for mobile, despite the limitations for our camera.

I also have a Nikon D3500 and I just bought a usb-otg cable to connect my dslr with my smartphone but I can't connect my dslr to qdslrdashboard. How do you do it? Which version do you have?

a Pixel Oppilas device, cost about £20 and works perfectly. There was life before mobile telephones I believe.
Do you have the name of the exact product you are using and does it work with the Nikon d3500 thanks
Yes. It is Oppilas/DC0. As to whether it works with a D3500 you'll have to do your own research as I don't have that camera. It does work with a D90; D300 and D750 although the additional purchase of a suitable cable connector may be required for the D300.

hey u can use snapbridge app by Nikon, its available on play store but in long shutter modes like bulb and time mode the remote shutter will not work, turn on your D3500 bluetooth and open snapbridge app on your smartphone and it will automatically connect and now u can take photos wirelessly, and u can even download them even too but only jpeg format not in raw

The Pixel devices I've seen work like my Vello trigger, via a receiver module physically connected to the camera. These types of devices will not work on a D3500 as the D3500 has no accessory port at all.

The older D3300 has an accessory port. And all or nearly-all other Nikon DSLRs have an accessory port. But not the D3500...

As far as I know, the only way to remotely trigger a D3500 is by using a Bluetooth device.

That's a bit of a bummer for the people who own a D3500. Thanks for the info.
They probably figure that people shopping at that level don't tend to use intervelometers and remote releases.

Has not anyone mentioned this that it can do remote shutter with D3500?

If I remember correctly!
Yes. SnapBridge communicates between a compatible mobile device and the camera via Bluetooth. That is the only way to remote trigger a D3500, which has been mentioned a few times in the replies including the very first.

.. Googling for "Snapbridge problems" returns in excess of 30,000 hits :-(

Which model do you use? I looked on Amazon and it seems that doesn't work with a D3500...

It's a bummer that Snapbridge App doesn't implement a time-lapse control... Does anyone know if there is a "custom" App having it and that connects to the camera by Bluethooth?
