GR3 will be available in less than one month.

I don't think the International Dateline changes what day of the week it is on a certain date of the year. In 2019, Feb 10th is always going to be a Sunday wherever you are.
Not quite true, but it becomes Monday Feb 11 in Tokyo while it's still Sunday Feb 10 where I am, here on the U.S. West Coast. It becomes Mon Feb 11 seventeen hours earlier in Tokyo than it does here. It just takes us a while to "catch up."

But the question, then, becomes "Sunday where?" If the announcement was for the U.S., Tokyo gets to Monday before we do. The sense of the statement of release depends on where you are.

This is large-scale nit-picking. :-) A more significant question is, will the GR III be released in February at all, or, say in July? Or better, in January!!
I don't think anyone evaluates release dates in such a complicated manner.
I do, I have to allow for such day / date situations for my job
Release dates are stated local time. Anyway 11th is a national holiday in Japan.
What a good time to do it, they will be at home to hear all about it and not be occupied with work

It will be Wednesday February 28 2019 ;-)

XF10 apparently has same lens as X70.

I love my X70, but stopped using it as only about 1 out of every 10 shots would be in focus, including those taken a a tripod. Manual focus was much better, but one doesn’t buy a camera like that to manually focus each time.
However what I have not seen is feedback on the new 1.10 firmware update, which (supposedly) addresses the AF issues...
Interesting, very interesting. Going to do some digging.

Feb 10th is Sunday. Anyone think Ricoh would release a camera on Sunday?
Have you ever heard about the International Dateline?
I don’t know about you but have absolutely never heard of such imaginary line.

Dateline? International? W.T.F. What the hack is it?

Feb 10 in Japan is still Sunday. Just in case you are implying it would be the 11th in Japan, that is Japanese holiday called foundation day. I don’t think they will release a camera on a holiday. I started to think they will finally release GR3 on the 13th month of the year, 5th weeks of the month and the 8th day of the week.

You guys sound bored.

I too am interested in the GR III to see if it can replace my Nikon Coolpix A, which has slow autofocus.

2019.2.28 at CP+ : "New GR Touch & TryTouch & try corner of new GR (prototype) under development is prepared. You can experience the evolved "GR" earlier than anywhere else."

There you go. Won't be available even by end of February. So all these dates flying around now appear to be speculation and idle guesswork, misinformation.

Are they really over-emphasising the 'under-development' and 'prototype' aspect, though? This must really be down to continued firmware testing phase now.

Thanks for the link. Glad I'm not in the buyers waiting queue at this time. :)

Neither am I in that queue. As long as my gr2 is in good condition, that's enough for me. I just hope the price in Denmark will not go up by the time I need the new one.

I bet CP+ has been the target for a long time, at least since the western show last year. I'm just happy they are not forcing anything through just because of customer demands or an impatient CEO. Most companies do that, especially because they need to be first. Just look at the "competition". $$ always seem to the only factor of interest. Somehow I think it doesn't matter that much in this case. It's a prestige ptoject and a pet product. For the few that wants it, it's the only option. But enough rambling, I have an impatient boss that want me to hurry something through due to an impossible deadline...

The day after it is released Mk 4 version speculation will begin. It’s a never ending loop 😃😀😅
Why wait? Let's discuss placement of flash and vf. Should we revert the useless stabilizer? Color of the next GR logo? More buttons? 40mm lens? :-D:-P:-O
As they seem to update in pairs somewhat, £100 says it will be almost the same as the MK 3 with two little tweaks like better sensor vibration and a new film simulation. Oh shoot, I started it 😔😟🙁😜

Firmware tweak if it takes so long, I guess the end product may be a very complex even complicated one.

Can anyone tell me how the autofocus spped of the GR II compares to the Nikon Coolpix A?

Well when the camera store compared the Nikon A with the GR I model they already found out that the GR autofocus was quicker

the GR II has SEVERAL advantages over the A . For le it is a no-brainet especially now that the GR II price is often discounted. When the GRIII comes out, my advice is to get a GRIi before they are all gone :)

Thank you. I remember vaguely seeing that video a while ago, but I was too much brand fanboyish at the time. I'll go watch it again.

Yes, digital cameras have higher IQ. Just saying that the Sony RX100III is amazingly sharp @ 24mm. The GR is comparable, but not better, except the outer edges....
Isn't being sharper at the outer edges the definition of better, when i comes to lenses?
Indeed, but I have plenty of those, with more focal length & processing options.
