Looks like a beautiful trip!

I love horseback rides in remote areas.

Finally have this lens. Just made a walk to play round a bit. It balances very well on my K100D. Focusing is a bit iffy at wider apertures, but that's related to the OVF of the K100D... still need to get a focusing screen for it :)

1 abstract, and one filmlike processing.

I'll post some more later, but those would benifit more from colour processing, which is not my forte...

A few colour-pics from the same testwalk with the Variozenitar....

Made with K100D, slightly edited in Capture 1.

Frost and sun today Sjak, excellent day. Still have to edit some outdoor ones. This one is a tight crop and the distance estimated, no time for focusing.

Received a 5 Euro defunct Vito BL on Friday and removed the lens, shutter taken out, CLA + a conversion to M42 mount (3D printed), some cosmetic enhancements. M32 extender tube is 2mm too long so have to get a shorter one. To my surprise the Color Skopar of the Vito BL is unit focusing and not front cell focusing. I kept the original helicoid but shortened the MFD, there was some slack for it on the helicoid etc. The Color Skopar has a fine reputation (some say APO level) and the first samples are not bad.

Great adaptation, and fine results Ernst!

Nothing spectacular, but I did throw an old Kimunor 500mm f/8 on my Sony A6500 and take a few quick shots of the red Moon from our snow-covered 10F deck. It (the Moon, not so much the photo) looks pretty impressive:

Actually, this is from the OOC JPEG. I couldn't get the raw to look as nice... Sony's JPEG processing really has gotten very good.

Railbridge at Arnhem. Taken 20 jan 2019. I took the shot raw and converted it to JPEG in the camera, so you're looking at Jpeg out of camera.

The camera is an Olympus OM-D E-M10 II.

This is with a Canon 85mm FL lens at f/4.

An eclipsed moon and a few stars over Moffat, Scotland. Seen through an access SQ 400 mm f/6.3 T-Mount lens (circa 1975 I think). Anyway, they cost about £30 on ebay.
Nicely done. I'm envious. :)

( I was all ready to go - scouted out some low-environmental-light spots at a local park, had the Tamron 500 BBAR in the car... then about three hours before, the clouds started rolling in. By the time the eclipse was supposed to reach totality, all that could be spotted through the overcast was a thin sliver.)

Hmm. Looks a lot like the shot I posted last night from Lexington, KY using a 500mm Kimunor f/8 on an A6500. Maybe mine is a tad sharper and lacks the hazy halo around the moon... the Kimunor is actually way better than my little fleet of cheapie 400mm f/6.3 lenses, although I think it cost me only about $20.

Image taken with a EBC Fujinon-SW 24mm F2.8 lens (m42) on a X-Pro1 and lens turbo 2.

I love this kind of pic, and it's very well done. Good job of catching a moment and positioning to capture the clouds wrapping around the tree; and the contrast between the grey clouds, black tree silhouette, deep blue sky, and bright sun is very well done.
