Problem with new RX100 VI

I took my brand new Sony RX100 VI out for a trial run today and when I got home I could not open the photos in Adobe Camera Raw. I might possibly have caused the problem by a setting I made in the Menu. Under Setup 6 there is a setting for “Set File Name”. I set the file names to MAP so each image starts with the letters MAP. I notice that each file ends with the suffix “.ARW”. Examples of the file names I downloaded to my computer are MAP00009.ARW, MAP00010.ARW, etc. I get the message "Camera Raw cannot open this file."

If anyone can help me with this problem, I would appreciate it very much.

Like he said, you need to update your software.

In my case renamed to RXAxxxxx in obvious anticipation of there being an RXBxxxxx in my life one day.

No problems with various raw converters that are known to cope with RX100M6 raw files.

Regards..... Guy

Ditto. I use the RX6 prefix (and R10 for my RX10M3 and A65 for my A6500). Those prefixes don't get in the way of processing the RAW files.

I've now adopted the policy of adding a further, much longer prefix to the RAW files, to describe the event/location being photographed. That also doesn't get in the way of post-processing the files.
