I just ordered my S10 from egghead.com for $583.98 including shipping! Best price I've seen, and in stock. Strangely, egghead no longer carrys the DK-110, so I ordered that from cameraworld.com.

This is my first digital camera, selected after reading DPREVIEW for months. Thanks to Phil for the great site and reviews. Thanks also to Chuck W. of Canon. Your participationand contribution here was an important factor in choosing this camera over the Nikon 950.
 
let us know if it takes 2 months before you get the camera from
Egghead? I've heard many grave stories about Egghead!

He will get in 2 months if he's lucky!!! They are noturios for poor
ship times!! Just look what happend when the 950 came out!!

I just ordered (on 11-17-99) the DK-110 from Egghead for $66.99. Egghead lists it as "Canon Power Supply for PowerShot A50", listing their SKU as PS 190075.

I just spoke with an Egghead salesperson by phone, and she said the S10 is backordered, with no indication of when it might be available. Interestingly, their website still shows the camera as being in stock.

Do not order from Egghead. They lie! They list items as "in stock" and they are not. I just canceled my order for the A-50 & DK-110 charger. John Laurence.

I retract my earlier comments regarding Egghead. The camera & charger arrived an hour ago which was only 2 days after I placed my order. Egghead's on-line order processing info. was not updated to indicate that my order was shipped the day after I placed it. My order arrived complete with no surprises. Well - here's what happened. Egghead had "trouble with the warehouse" and I was on back order for two frustrating days (plus a weekend). I was just about to cancel, but nobody else had the S10 in stock. Then, surprise, my order shipped and got here the next day - yesterday. So - a few extra days wait, but I now have a great camera at a great price. Overall, I give Egghead a "B".

First impressions with the camera are everything this forum had led me to hope for. The camera is compact and rugged, the images are crisp and only limited by my composition skills. My first real "Wow!" happened when PhotoStitch combined my simple 3-pictures series into a beautiful panorama. Not of a landscape, but of a Thanksgiving party at my daughters school! Amazing.

Are you sure you meant Provantage, not someone else?
Or did they inflate the price this much in 1 week?

Well, they don't seem to have lied to me! After seeing your message, I went to check my order status. It shows that I ordered the S-10 at 1:01PM Thursday, the order was shipped on Friday, they give the UPS tracking no., so I checked with UPS. They show that my package is on its way.

What concerns me a little is that the price I'm paying is $629.99 for the "S10 Kit". Does anyone know what the kit includes besides the factory sealed S10 box? Egghead's website doesn't explain. The S10 alone is not listed (for $566-, or any other price); only the S10 Kit is listed.

Well, I too was skeptical about getting an S10 for 566$ from egghead,but I placed my order on 11/19/99 and after recieving a backorder notice on 11/22/99 got notice that the camera was shipped on 11/23/99 and
recieved the camera on 11/24/99 Just in time to take thanksgiving photos
for our family gathering. Egghead really came through and I love the
camera.

The "price is not right." I dialed up Egghead today and was quoted $629. Given the mixed results of other with Egghead, you might consider CameraWorld (I used Sean). Price is $649 without the bull.
