OK, this is different for everybody so I should have said things I see when out walking.

A lovely sunshine morning so I took a walk out on the dyke in front of our townhouse complex. Images in chronological order:

Distant coyotes:

Mediocre image but Northern Shrikes are not very common around here so has value for me:

Beautiful ! There are no mountains near me, or Bald Eagles. I feel envious.

Thanks for sharing all the lovely photos, Alwyn. I'm thinking that it might be time to consider relocating north. The beauty of your area is breathtaking.

Warm Regards,
Deborah

It lookslike you live somewhere very nice!

Thanks for the combination of humorous and serious comments Deborah: I enjoyed that! And yes: even though I said something about it in jest, I am VERY aware of how fortunate we are to live where we do.

All the very very best for 2019!

Thanks GTO: I am assuming you meant this for me.

And while I share your taste in the make and model of your forum name, I favour the year earlier model: photograph of my mother with her 1965 Goat:

And please forgive me for how I mangled the framing: my excuse is that I was 12 years old when I took the photograph with my Kodak Instamatic 100!

A terrific selection of images there Alwyn. It shows that you should always take your camera on a walk.

Thanks Rodger. And as mentioned to Deborah: we are very fortunate in this area in that I am pretty much guaranteed to see this kind of variety of wildlife this time of year when I head out onto the dyke. It is probably a two minute walk from my front door onto the dyke and then there is this whole other world out there. We are very blessed indeed in terms of wildlife.

My pleasure, Alwyn. Thank you so much. I have always enjoyed your humorous captions, along with your photos, and quite enjoyed your :"Upon reflection not a bad place to live..." sandwiched between the two photos containing reflections. I realized that you appreciate living where you do. I am awed by the beauty of your area.

Thank you, Alwyn. Wishing you all the very best for 2019 !
