Image was taken with the phone, so quality is not stellar, but it's quite visible how much speckles are already inside, right after opening the package. Lens was bought new and the Fujifilm tape was in place on the box so it might not even be the retailer pulling one shady move (also purchased it from the official chinese online retailed through JD, which should be one of the safest routes out there).
What puzzles me is that the dust (that is dust, right?) appears to be sitting perfectly on some circular rims of the glass, on the picture the most easy to catch are those around the orange circle, then one smaller darker one left of the yellow one, then a few more further inside.
Question is, am I right in believing that is dust?, pictures of the front element of the lens I find on google show it to be immaculate, and for what it costed I'd be bothered having to deal with it.
Bigger question here is, I have a trip to Vietnam in two weeks, so in case I'd send it back, would it be even possible to get it (shinier) in time? This is an abstract question I know but if anybody has any experience with glass cleaning and timing it would be great hearing it.
Bummed Christmas feels but hopefully you can all help me ascertain the nature of those odd white particles sitting geometrically on the circular rims.
