My apologies for the bad pun, but the hair is made out of a bunch of small plants. This is on the side of a building in the city I live. Taken with my cell phone.

You wouldn't think that going from black on the left to completely washed out light on the right would work, but it does in your hands. I like it!

OK, so I used a sunset from my trip down the Intracoastal Waterway last week.

Here's a sun - RISE, as we got underway after a week's stop in Elizabeth City, North Carolina:

Going forward to shake out the jib, I took a picture first.

Hello, Erik.

Nice picture. It must have been a very interesting and memorable voyage through the Intracoastal Waterways !

Campbell Town, Tasmania. Looks like the 1930s. Two old photos joined to make a pano.
Hello Mike.

A very nice old picture. I really like those old B/W pictures, there is really that "something" in them.

It's an HDR image with the flare enhanced, also there were some bikes riding past which I did not deghost so they're barely visible. I did desaturate it a bit not sure if it helps or hinders. Curious what everyone thinks.

Ah - Hah !! So THAT's what it means.

Your pun is explained: previously the title was a mystery to me.

Yes "interesting and memorable", indeed.

After my attempt to do this trip by myself several years earlier - which was ruined/stopped by a hurricane plugging the "Dismal Swamp Canal" with blown-down trees, it was very interesting to do the entire trip with a much more experienced Captain (ANYONE in command of a boat is the boat's Captain and is legally responsible for what happens).

It was a relief and an eye-opener to see how many things went wrong even with an experienced Captain, which helped to put my own trip's mishaps in perspective.

Small ships can get into the most amazing troubles - but that is what makes "Adventure".

Very nice - I like it. Very colorful.

Plus, it is very encouraging to see a real "Photographic Painting" and someone willing to use HDR on such a subject with all the trees & branches subject to movement between exposures - and of course the bicyclists.

Thanks Eric, I could see the potential as I was taking the picture with the light rays shining through the trees. I had to be quick to catch the bike riders and when I got home the lens flare seemed to be a blessing. I've included another version below with a painted effect which I think I like better. Let me know what you think.

Cool architectural pattern, and a good shot of it - shooting from an angle adds to the dynamic feel.

Hi Erik, I am with you on the dynamic feel of the shot.

Other photographers thought it was troubling and recommened a straight on shot or fix in post.

I shot it while stopped at a traffic light. It was my only possible composition but I liked the way it came out very much.

Hi Colin.

For some reason I like the first picture more, BUT the second picture is also good, more resembling 20th century "modern art" :-)

Hi Trafford2.

A very interesting car picture, especially as I like pictures of old cars.

One could almost imagine this is a 1:2 model of a RR :-)
