*** New Wildlife Thread starts 1st December 2018 ***

I am Looking at the pictures on this site and not downloading them. It looks like the FZ2000 is a sharper and better detailed picture after Crop and PP, plus masked/selective Topaz Detail sharpening than the G80 PP, plus masked/selective Topaz Detail.

The wiskers are sharper and even the fur. Maybe its just me but I like the FZ2000.

It is a great picture of the squirrel.

.

While making my cup of tea this morning I looked out the back window and saw a squirrel sitting on the end of a branch. When I got my camera ready I saw that it was hanging upside down having a snack. It was at the long end of my FZ200's zoom (including iZoom), but I managed to get a couple pictures that were not terrible.

Robin addiction is non-harmful and very common ;-)

They turned out well. I’ll need to add the cost of an underwater digital camera if/when I book a trip including snorkelling.

Glorious colour Steve. How common are the Iguana in Florida. How far north can they be found in Florida? We’ll be in Kissimmee early next year.

Good set a Rodger. You certainly get around ;-)

I am not sure how far north they are at this time. They don't do well in cold weather. I know they are in Cape Coral Fort Myers Estero and south. Many places are killing them because they are not a native lizard.

The one in the picture was a smaller one about 24 inches and brightly colored.

Interesting shots, K

Really like the last one!

Excellent shots! You seem to be doing very well with the new camera.
Thanks K.

Still learning it. Different company as well as different camera, so lots of differences.

Plus...mirror slap, lame live view, need to change lenses every so often..

But, it likes high ISO, and so far, not needed any O.I.S. at 450mm, handheld.

Quite surprised at the color depth, tone, low noise, high dynamic range. Never seen this high I.Q....not even with my Ricoh GR or GXR...both APS-C sensors.

Weight with 450mm lens is about the same as my FZ1000..but anything smaller, then it's both a lighter and smaller camera. Main reason my FZ1000 stayed at home.

Really nice set, Rodger!

First and last are my favorites.

Recently have seen and been shooting the Pintail ducks, among others.

interesting to watch as they 'swim and skim' to surface for food. I don't think they ' dunk' like the Mallards do.

ANAYV
Many thanks, ANAYV. That's an interesting observation about the pintails, as its not something I have had the privilege of seeing in my relatively short time seeing them.

Good set a Rodger. You certainly get around ;-)
Thanks Stuart. I do get around a bit, but I am home now and look like being back in OZ for sometime.

Great looking images, ANAYV from the new cam. The second shot is definitely a Black Crowned Night Heron. I saw one myself just last week, although I was unable to get good shots of it because of branches and foliage in between it and the camera. Curses!

Don't worry about the criticism, I'm glad for the input, as it helps me improve things in my images.

Always good to talk with you. I also think many have forgotten how helpful you have been in providing your settings and techniques for taking high ISO shots on cameras that aren't usually very good in that department.

Interesting comparisons. I have to say that from what I can see, the FZ2000 looked to have the better results of the two cameras. I thought the G80+100-400 made the fur look a bit smeared.

Excellent shots of the squirrel. Its amazing what they can do when they need to in the way of acrobatics. Well observed and photographed.

They turned out well. I’ll need to add the cost of an underwater digital camera if/when I book a trip including snorkelling.
We happen to like the Panasonic line. The TS3 served us for several years and many a trip underwater. Once it died, we got a TS6 and it's been good, as well. It's going to get used again in the near future.

Excellent and rock solid IQ at 300mm. That Nikon is a great fit for you.
