Both are nice and easy subjects to photograph and it’s easy to convert any photograph to art with various programs but that’s not required for this challenge. Anything you deem to be art is acceptable as is any style of architecture. Either or both are acceptable entries.

Please join us in our photo challenge, everyone is welcome to be a part of our group.

The Eligible Gallery: is for images captured with any camera, any brand, but during the Challenge period.

Well - it is nice to see you again. It has been a long time since we have crossed paths.

I was sure it was you, as I recognized the kids on a gallery photo you have.

We would love to have you join is. Would you like to formally enter your shots - either in Eligible or in Exhibition, depending on the date shot ? I'll send you the password.

We are a (currently) small and informal group. We continue to play here as we like taking photos and sharing them with our friends. None of us take ourselves very seriously.

By all means we'd love to have you return, I always enjoyed your entries. We needed to change the password since you last posted and it's my fault for carelessly using public wifi in a airport and I even know better.

just noticed the vote booth hasn’t picked up the challenge yet and it should have by now. Might need to email jack for a reboot.

I never got that last shot I wanted to try. I'll find a way to fit it into some future challenge.

...I loved the Farm, all of it except the pallet knife strokes, or brush strokes in the foreground yellow tree...were too mechanical, (for me)...interestingly, the rest of this fine image did not seem to suffer from this...

I also really liked the 3D graphic image....really nice, I maybe felt the red ball should also be mid-air....or maybe it was being born out of the blue cube....

I couldn't decide so I voted for the smoke...they most photographic, I know...but still, it is a terrific image.

Best Wishes, Traveller

PS at least you can tell that I look and think over images....lol

You have a keen eye. Please help me discern those strokes.

That's OK with me, I don't need to win every time, I like to share!! I had another shot I was going to do but I figured it would have been a surefire winner so I choose not to do it. I smell fresh blood is in the water...........

And how about that five way tie for first place in exhibition!

I had a similar reaction, but perhaps I did not correlate it with "mechanical". Mechanical makes sense to me.

But this is one reason I like to do painting like this on a Photoshop layer, then blend all or some of it into the layer below. I then change the opacity of the painted layer, then mask out other areas if it looks better to me. I would have done that with the tree.

Congratulations there buddy, I knew your ship was going to come in any day now.

If you need help with finalizing what ever your new challenge choice is don't hesitate to ask.

Congrats , Dave. This was a great shot and a very deserving winner.
Thank you. I am humbled. You all put such care into your shots, and much more than I do in post. This was another of my "see it and shoot it" entries. I am fortunate to be surrounded with things that catch my eye.

I long ago wrote down an idea for a challenge. That piece of paper has probably glaciated with others. So I'm going to suggest something else that popped into my head.

I propose a challenge called "Almost". These will be shots that have something wrong with them that interrupts the perfection we so often seek. It can be obvious from the image, conveyed via the title, or explained (I love stories).

Hey, Mister. I was trying to take a picture of the monk enjoying the view.

I'm grateful that the gallery is ready and will probably need some help getting things rolling.

Almost - it sounds like fun; and will certainly require some thought.

I probably have a few of those tucked away in the archives that never got processed.

And new shots - hmmmm. Putting on thinking cap.
