** Weekly X Series Photo Thread 25 NOV - 01 DEC**

Vic

Yeh they are lovely, I`m gonna try to set my SJ4000 (go pro copy) up in the field near the water troughs, I can set it up on movement only and strap a power pack to the tripod, should get about 6 hrs on a large card so might get that Deer if she comes back in the spring.

Not sure if you saw this shot from the field up to our village church.

I feel so much better now that I've given up Hope

Just a few shots taken when we stopped to eat, on the way up to the house last week

I didn't realize how much I've missed that Loxia lens character.

Ken, that's a nice scene, but it looks like much of my underexposed RAWs before being developed.

Have you tried raising exposure in post with a RAW exposure of that nature? It would be a shame not to, to better see what's in that scene to be seen. :)

Ooh....naughty, naughty.......posting images from a Sony FF on a Fuji Forum! Usually punishable by 10 tongue-lashings! :-)

In another thread the question is asked how many own 2 systems? I would have responded but my kit is composed of 4 complete systems + a few stragglers. BTW I never bought the Loxias because the don't have AF. My eyes rely mostly on AF so I own the Batis line and they are fine lenses.

And, please, members don't start jumping on this post!!!!!

I purposely under expose a lot of my shots just the way I like it

We may get this kind of precipitation this week in my water--needy area. Thanks for the images of hope!

It warmed up today so I headed to the beach to see what I could find. Got to meet see a lot of Black Scoters and a few Surf Scoters mixed in. The surf scoter has an orange and white beak. We had a strong storm come through last night and the morning tide was the highest I've ever seen when there was not a hurricane with the ocean up to the dunes rather than about 100 yards of sandy beach.

If only I could get her to sit still for more than 1/60th of a second.

That's a beautiful shot. You nailed the focus and the depth of field works really well. Also the colour is great. The background complements the kitty very well.

I was going to ask what the red was! You don't run out of light with that setup Gil. Have you shot action with it yet and how happy are you with that camera/lens setup?

Vic
Hi Vic,

Nope :-( I haven't had a chance to give it a good sport workout yet, it's the worst season of the year right now here for outdoor sports, really looking forward to January...

Talking about workout, it's a hefty kit, I'll need a new set of dumbbells I think ;-)

X-Pro1 with XF35/1.4R shot @ f1.4

A shot I took a few weeks ago in Abruzzo, Italy, a gentleman sipping a glass of wine.

Thinking and thinking about to get rid of the X-Pro1 and to upgrade to an X-T2 but for what is worth I would rather keep it and wait to get funds for an upgrade since I am in no rush but I do really crave some more AF speed to capture the moment.

Thanks for watching

I know what you mean, though the Loxia's are quite enjoyable to focus in part because they speak to the camera (magnification can be set to kick in as soon as the focus ring is moved). I have both because I wanted it all - WR AF for when MF isn't suitable, and MF for the rendering qualities AF don't quite match.

There was a time I felt I was using the MF light spike character as a crutch, rather than an additional punctuation on top of whatever (as some might use tone mapping to punch up dull exposures/compositions). So when I went Fuji and didn't immediately try to adapt the Voigtlanders it was to work w/o that punctuation for a change of pace (and to see if reaction to creations w/o would differ). Now I feel I'm repeating the same compositional formula on the streets. . . I believe using the 40-150 or any primes 50mm and up is what I need to do for variety. But I digress. . . anyway, I'm just pleased to have found a place for the FF kit and to dust it off as a companion to the mainstay (Fuji).

Ahhh! :-(

Nice set, even though they're Sony. Love the spooky atmosphere.
Thanks. I won't be able to walk out my door and exploit what NYC has to offer in a few months (not without burning a 1/2 tank of gas). When it rains after dark I'll need to find other streets to exploit. A new chapter in life and photography (rubbing hands together) [g].

My apologies, for being so assumptive (presumptive?).
