I will put this one out there in the Mac Forum as it relates to Photos plug in.

With Apple ceasing its photo books app, I am looking for a replacement - has any one had experience with Mimeo - quality, price, delivery?

Thanks, Fred

Had a 2018 Apple photo calendar that was mailed from the same zip as Mimeo in New Jersey last year. It was consistent in production with previous years' calendars that I had made thru Apple. No experience with books from this source.

Hi Sinbad - thanks - Fred

I just received my first Mimeo photobook and so unhappy with the quality. Every page that had textbox below photos, the photos have large margin on top of page and text is on the very bottom edge. The margins are different every page. Where is their quality control. So sorry I did not read more reviews bwfore completing a large vacation book. I am also unable find any custom service to call.

I will keep my fingers crossed then - I have just ordered my first and expecting delivery in a week!!

Check out Prestophoto's book templates for use with Apple's Pages app.

With Pages you can control just about every aspect of the design.

Edit: I became disillusioned with Presto's print quality and switched to Mimeo which I find much closer to my Aperture/Apple books.

Just had an extra large photobook done by Mimeo. The book itself is similar to Apple. The dust jacket print quality is poor compared to Apple's. The pages seem to have the same thickness as Apple. It has slightly less sheen to it. The print quality is only average. Mind you, Apple's print quality wasn't that great either. You have to dial up a lot of contrast, brightness and saturation or the pictures will look dark and dull. Even when dialled up, it will not pop like an inkjet print. The Mimeo book was printed in Medford, Orlando. My previous Apple photobooks were printed in Japan.

Not sure what Mimeo's printing equipment/technology is but one would have thought for such a big business they would use the latest.

I don't think I'll use Mimeo again.

I have had six books printed and was happy with them. But I do not have a comparason to use. My only complaint was you cannot get a discount on multiple books or the cost of shipping.
