Hello everyone,

Hope you are having a nice day. I am sharing a photo from my first portrait shoot after purchasing the Sony A7r III. Gotta say, I love this camera and the 85mm F/1.8 lens, and how easy it is too take portraits. Not to mention the image quality.

I would love some feedback and thank you. Have a great day!

It's a nice portrait. I do think her eyes seem a little unrealistic and enhanced. I'd also recommend a bit more vignetting. Keep in mind, these are just my preferences and that doesn't make it right. :-)

Thank you very much Sean. She is wearing contacts, so it is not real. And yes, vignetting might help, I'll see when I open the catalog next. Thank you :)

I would leave it as it is, amazingly beautiful.

Lovely portrait. I think you are mastering the placement of negative space-behind-the-subject in a very nice way. Keep´em coming :)

Very nice portrait. I was wondering if you used EYE-AF mode.

Also, I see on your website that you've been making beautiful portraits for awhile and use a variety of cameras. Can you tell us how the A7riii stacks up against the Nikon D850? What do you like about the sony vs the fuji or the Nikons for portraits. The other camera images to me are excellent BTW.

Manzur, nice shot as usual!!!

Thank you very much Roger. I'm trying to slowly make it better, and I love negative space somehow haha. Have a great day!

Thank you very much BWK9, much appreciated. Yes, I've used Eye-AF mode for this portrait.

I have used the Nikon D850 very briefly. I was lucky to got my hands on one, but was unlucky as the camera had serious AF issues, similar to what dpreview explained in their review at page 11 regarding subject distance. I also like that Sony has vastly more features than D850, and just the IBIS and eye-AF alone makes it a superior camera. Every other camera I use or try to use, I immediately miss the eye-AF haha. This is how technology spoils us I guess :)

Sony - Small, lightweight, IBIS, Eye-AF, great battery life.

Fuji GFX 50S - Sheer image quality is just on another level, amazing amazing 110mm lens, great DR, good battery life. But I wish they'd make a faster and stabilized lens, and improve the FD/Eye-detection AF function.

Nikon D810 (D850 I had bad experience, but maybe just my copy) - Great color, Base ISO 64 is great, the 105mm F/1.4 E lens I had was extra amazing.

EXCELLENT PHOTO !!! I love how the value of the jeans is also mirrored in the blue patches of the background. Assuming that is not an accident :)
