I've never heard of them before your post. I just checked out the site, and the prices are very low. I'd say too low.

Yes, I have used them extensively for buying and selling Nikon, Sony and Fuji. They are based in the UK, where they are well known, but opened up in the US a few years back.

They tend to pay about 5-10% more than others when buying and their used prices are similarly on the low side.

Their gear quality is accurately described and usually they have actual pictures of the actual item you are buying (i.e. B&H and KEH generally do not so you base your purchase decision on rating system.

The only downside/upside is that they are very selective in what they sell. While some used dealers will sell items that are worn and abused, mpb generally will only buy or sell things that are in 9 or greater condition. If you are a buyer, this is great as the items are always in good condition unless pictures indicate otherwise. If you are a seller, they only buy lower shutter count and lenses with few or no signs of use.

All of the lenses I have bought from them were excellent in their original boxes. The only signs of use I found of them was a minor scuff mark on the lens hood.

For Sony lenses, they tend to sell out what they have for the higher end lenses very quickly. I have been looking for a specific lens and they turned over the one I was looking at within 10 minutes of it being posted.

I've both sold and bought from MPB and never had issues. They'll quote you kind of low when you sell gear but they sell at good used prices that are comparable or slightly lower than B&H. They only have a 7-day return but their customer service has been very good. I bought my FE 50 1.8 on there and it was in fantastic shape.

I was asking because their like new used a9 are $3000 and that is even lower than private sales on fredmiranda etc.

100% trustworthy. They buy for less and sell for less but give a superb service so people use them both ways.

I have purchased a lot of stuff from them and they also describe their lenses and cameras conservatively. If something says excellent, you wont see any marks at all. Good will also be much better than expected.

Lots are also commission sales so I assume some of the bigger discounts are customers wanting their gear sold, so letting them discount.

A good friend of mine bought one of their like new A9’s for $3500 earlier this year. There were almost no signs of use. My guess is that they are trying to push them out the door since they have 5 in stock, so they have lowered the prices to move them.

ok, good. cuz keh was selling LN for $3600.

Suspicious price of $2599 like new. As they say if it's too good to be true...

Not sure what you are trying to say here. Mpb is widely known to be a reputable company. If you don't like their price, then don't buy it.

For example, google is your friend here.

In my opinion MPB are a great company to deal with.

I have bought and sold from them extensively over the last few years.

I would recommend them 100%.

Are their like new condition used prices in the UK discounted 40-50% vs. new?

private sellers on boards like fredmiranda are selling like new a9s for $3295 and 3050. I have never seen a $1900 discount (based on current price) on a like new product such as a9 anywhere. for example, BH Photo is selling a Condition 7 a9(Shows considerable amount of use - More than average wear) for $2923.50
reading is your friend. i read that thread before and all but one are about mpb in uk.

I haven’t used them, but I know a couple of pro photographers who have used them without a bad word said. But I am U.K. based...

Seriously, just give them a call (https://www.mpb.com/en-us/help/contact-us/). I know that most of their sales team is UK based, but they do have a few US based team members that answer the phone during normal US hours. Sitting on the fence here isn't going to do you anything. I have no clue why anyone would sell the A9 for that good of a price other than they have too many and want to move them. They have a 6 month guarantee (https://www.mpb.com/en-us/help/warranty/). Use a credit card and you will have absolutely no worries.

I don’t see any a7iii or a9 on sale tif, but looking at grey market cameras on panamoz or e-infin, the a9 body only is around £2500 ($3000ish) brand new; prices have come down considerably in the last 6 months - that a9 was near £4000 not so long ago...!

i bought my a7iii for £1960 inc kit lens from amazon in August, prices on bodies are going down in general, it’s the glass that is holding steady from my unscientific observations!
