Curious if others wish Sony had in camera processing. Recently started using Fuji for family and fun shoots and RAW processing was a big part of the decision. Can shoot RAW only, then convert and transfer JPEGs with tweaks to the tone curve to get about 90% of the way to a good finished image.

NO

For this feature to be interesting I would also need a possibility to send images out from the camera and to the chosen service/web on the Internet and/or to selected persons. Basically the function of the Zeiss ZX1.

42 Megapixels is the answer to life, the universe and everything.
You don't have to like my pictures, but it would help: http://www.lattermann.com/gallery

Not in the slightest. Even if I could process in camera, there's still far more I'd want to do to the picture I'm sure... wow. Our society is getting way too much, 'I want it right now!!!' Of course, I'm sure there's times you do need it right now... but I haven't' personally had that happen.

I shoot both Sony and Fuji, the in-camera processing is nice, especially AFTER you've taken the photo, but the thing is, I usually find myself further tweaking the pictures in post anyways, so... while it would be nice to have, it doesn't really bother me that Sony doesn't offer it

I have used it when sending images to social media. It's nice to have the control and convenience of in camera processing. I would like to have the ability to create a custom profile in LR or C1 and import that into my camera as a preset. For anyone shooting events, travel, street, documentary work I think it has a place.

I have both. It is the feature I never used other than to play with a few times. My goal is to get it right in camera and to do minimal work in post.

On Fuji, that has such a good jpg engine, if I have any idea I might share a photo I would shoot RAW+Jpeg and the resultant jpeg is usually good enough to share.

The only difference is that ACR is able to squeeze quite a bit more dynamic range out of its jpegs compared to the in camera processing so it never made sense to use camera based processing unless you were shooting for the jpeg.

Focus stacking would be cool.

NO not at all.

Don’t Care, since I edit with the computer, but I won't stop someone else from using such a tool.

I won't edit in camera because I can't calibrate the display, and because the display is too small.

+1 for an easy raw export to phone/tablet.

####Where's my FF NEX-7 ?????
Firmware request:
-A button map for toggling the EVF & LCD
-Still waiting for the minimum shutter speed with auto ISO for my NEX-7 and A7r. I know it will never happen.
-Customize the display screen layout, I'd love to have both Histogram and level at the same time.
-More peaking options, being able to set peaking sensitivity and a threshold level.
-An RGB overlay on the histogram -An option to return the focus assist zoom to one button press
-An option to return to how the NEX-7 handled playback, ie. center button to zoom, then you could use the control dial to zoom in and out, then center button to exit the zoom mode.

Nope. if I really cared about getting a good shot SOOC, I'd tweak the JPEG settings and shoot RAW+JPEG and call it a day.

This is just me, but I think I've processed like 10 images in-camera in my entire life and it's a big waste of time IMO -- tweak the JPEG profile or just do it on PC.

If I want to instantly edit and send pictures for viewing on mobile devices, my Huawei does that.

Good in theory but how are you going to quickly move multiple 42mb files?
I couldn't care less if I can edit on my camera or not. Id rather have a super quick way to export RAW to a smartphone so we can just edit on that.

The nice thing about Fuji, you can set a profile and shoot RAW only. The Profile is then the default start point for the conversion. So with 2 clicks you have you JPEG, and can only convert the “keepers”. Still, I try and get it right in camera but I’d rather worry about capturing the right moment. Then if my shadows are a bit blocked up or highlights blow I can dial in the conversion. I wouldn’t mind editing the RAWs on my phone either, but when the jpeg is close they can be fine tuned as well.

Admittedly I’m not doing this on critical shoots or where I think I’m going to get a big print, but for some shoots it’s nice to have a final result without having to sit down at a computer.
