Dead Camera Photos

I used to shoot performing arts on film with manual focucus Ai lenses. Dead film cameras.

Face detect worked a treat and these pictures have far better IQ than I ever got with Tmax at 1600

Pat metheny curtain call at a "cameras are banned" concert hidden in my wifes handbag. This is heavy crop, about a quarter of a frame.

Some nice (dead camera) concert shots there!

BTW, what's a "film camera?" You mean, like, a camera that can shoot video?

;-)

Some lovely shots you've got there! I enjoyed them all. Also, the last portrait was definitely a keeper. There's something about the way your dead camera made that one shine... ;-)

Stunning photos you got there!

Cheers

Bravo - the best way of combating camera forum gear nonsense, is to post some great photos!

Both shot hand-held in Sydney this evening. In-camera monochrome, with zero colours, levels, etc touched in post processing. Some cropping to get horizon lines right.

I posted a question in the "site advice" forum asking if I could create a custom filter for the forums. I would truly love to be able to filter out any thread with "FF" in the title. Yes, I know, I can simply not read them, and I don't, but really rather not have to even scroll past them. Total waste of time.

Anyway, this thread was part sarcasm part "middle finger" to all those damned posts, and to TN, who is, as usual, wrong again.

Dead camera (E-PM2) and dead lens (9-18). Neither of them work anymore, though the 9-18 is worth repairing.
Beautiful shots!

Pity about the teeny tiny dead camera and lens. It's surely for the best (for the sake of your photographic enjoyment, you see).

Now, could I interest you in a new Canon EOS R? Nikon Z6? Sony a7iii?
Thanks!

I still use the old E-M5 I bought in 2012. I've carried it well over 2000km of hiking, usually unprotected around my neck/shoulder. It has a cracked screen since that photo on the beach (tripod fell) and the the screen died this summer. The E-Pm2 was a cheap demo kit and I sold the kit lens. The camera lasted about a year and a half, drowned in my own sweat. :p I've been hoping for small, weather sealed travel/outdoor camera since. I have no interest in FF but APS would do.

Obviously being a dead camera I should never have taken the ep5 on a day out recently.
