Show Your Snaps...October 22, 2018

After months, I finally had a day to my self, wife and kids sent off to their grandma's, work locked down, dog bathed, etc. As usual, using my go-to macro setup comprising of the Soligor 28MM and a 12mm extension ring.

Ah, "action figures". I have a set of macro shots of an old Tie Fighter pilot I had as a young kid in the early 80's. It survived my brother and I, and countless kids playing with it, or chewing on it, or bashing it in to things. I'll see if I can find them, I even made up a somewhat amusing story to go with them.

With way too many stars cluttering it all up. I squeezed in about 36 images (45 seconds each) before the Moon rose (see earlier post) and ruined the sky with it's glow. I need to figure out how to reduce/remove a lot of the stars.

This is some of the supernova remnants that occurred an estimated 5000 to 8000 years ago.

Well they are out of eclipse plumage and this is the first time I've noticed the speculum on the Male Northern Pintail

When I'm not playing birds, I'm shooting my accordion....or is it the other way around?

Very Nice CD, making jealous my wild life seem to have gone kaput for awhile I figured migrant action would be cranked up by now but so far not so much.

Acaltha, very nice! You guys and your macro shots tempt me into spending more money I just shouldn't spend lol
Macro can be done on the cheap, like I have. M42 lenses are still very affordable, and macro rings are less than £3. Plus the coatings on older lenses give your photos a quality that new lenses don't. ImI more than happy to share what I've learnt thus far.

I have a sizeable collection of miniature Batmobiles, and i bought these figures last year to complement the display.

Hi cdmazoff,

Super shot of the Male Northern Pintail

Perhaps 10-15 minutes after the Moon had risen last night.

I like seeing the Wigeon. It reminds me of the times that I've taken pictures of them too. That's a good capture of the incoming bird.

What type of flowers are those? The lighting and composition is best in the last photo. I haven't gotten any macro lenses yet for my Canon gear. I've been so busy with so many other things. With one of my Olympus DSLR lenses, I did like to take pictures of damselflies.

That's extraordinary...good job! That immediately got my attention. I was expecting that. It looks great.

I can see the supernova remnants. That looks great with the stars.

You are getting some great photos of the birds. The only time I got good pictures of a Northern Pintail, was when someone left some birdseed nearby along a shore. Other than that, they seem quite shy.

The first thing that strikes me of being good, is all the colors. I like the facial expressions on the right side too.

I always like to see your full frame camera pictures. You are able to get amazing detail.
