Has any one here used one of these in this or any other size ? It is listed to sell at $14.99 and even though it is only a few bucks, I don't like to waste any money. The amazon reviews are good but I am a doubting Thomas and would like to hear from any one here who has actually used one. It is either the deal of the century or as I suspect, just a total piece of junk so if any one here has really used an Amazon Basics filter I 'd like an unbiased opinion. Thanks

FWIW, I would have no qualms about trying an Amazon Basics filter, because I have purchased an Amazon Basics flashgun, which actually is excellent quality for the price point.

I have one of the really cheap circular polarizers, that came in a kit with ND2 ND4 ND8 UV and FLD, $30 for 49mm. It is for a russian M42, so I figured cheap would do. It kind of works, and it kind of doesn't. When I twist it, nothing seems to happen. Then it suddenly comes to a point where it gives full effect at once -- there is no granularity, it is either on or off.

Amazon has a liberal return policy. I'd get the filter, and if it doesn't measure up, just return it (and pen a nice 1-star review of the product as a thank you for the trouble you've been put through).

I had one in 67mm and found my images substantially softer while using it. I tossed it. It made a dandy Frisbee...

Buy a Hoya CPL instead.

Thank you all for your answers. I have never been disappointed with a Nikon, Hoya or other name brand filter. i was just curious about these Amazon offerings and know what to expect.
