Looking for an app that will monitor a folder and any new photos that are copied into this folder will get watermarked. Options for landscape/portrait and PNG support would be an added bonus.

Would be great if it could also display each new photo that gets processed.

Does anything like this exist?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I doubt you will find anything, since not even that many applications do watermarking.

Lightroom can watch a folder and auto import, and then you could use the Lr/Mogrify 2 plugin to create watermarks.

Hazel can run actions and scripts on files added to a folder. Perhaps you could set it to use application X to print to JPEG or PDF or something, with a default printing setting that has a watermark.

Good luck,

Rob

there is something called iWatermark ($30) but I'm not sure if it will watch a hot folder (although you could mess w/ Mac's 'Automator' tool for that).

The Mogrify command has its origin in the ImageMagick suite and can be used (w/ Automator, for a $0 cost solution)

Do you mean a visible watermark?

Retrobatch is a great batch automation program that can do lots of things to multiple images, including watermarks:

For running actions you create in Retrobatch automatically when files are inserted in a folder, take a look at this post on folder actions:

Thanks Kendall, that looks great :)

I did look around on google but couldn't find anything suitable. My solution in the end was to use 'LayerX' a program that allows you to overlay images on a screen, thus allowing me to show a photo on screen with a watermark visible, but not on any prints.
