Not seen much action or comment regarding the problem with 'color adjustment' giving a BLACK screen and requiring a reset.

This issue was acknowledged by Sigma but nothing has changed.

Cheers.

I would guess they're about to release SPP 7. I'm guessing it will be out in a couple of months, in preparation for the full-frame camera samples.

Could you describe what you do to provoke the error? I have tried all i can think of and see no errors.

Are you on Windows or Mac? (I use Win10)

whisky,

What are you doing to cause the "BLACK screen"? I have never experienced that with files from any of the Sigma cameras.

MotomanDK and Ceistinne.

I'm on a mac running macOS 10.12.6 and all you need to do is move the 'color adjustment' off centre. Also the dropper does not function, it looks as if SPP is processing, but the color adjustment does not change to the required setting.

On my Mac that works fine, running 10.14 (Mojave)

Is there a reason you are staying behind?

It may not be the Mac version though, something els to try is turning on or off GPU acceleration and see if that effects things...

What GPU do you have?

Never like to be first on new updates, best to see what new improvement 'bugs' have appeared IMHO.

Having a 'Fusion' drive late 2012, 16GB, 2.6 GHz i7 mac mini I am a little wary of upgrading at present, was thinking of moving to High Sierra as it is probably sorted now but in no great hurry as I don't want to muck up my X3F previews via 'Corpus Calosum' which might happen since Apple seems to be out to 'clip' a lot of stuff?

Mojave seems to have addressed the 'Fusion' drive issue but I'll hold off for a few further updates till I make the change, if ever.

Tried that at your suggestion, no change.
What GPU do you have?
intel HD Graphics 4000.

That problem happens on El Capitan too. I think it happens so rarely though, that they are probably going to just wait, and include that fix with SPP 7, which I have no doubt they're working on as we speak.

;)

I bet they'll release some sample photos from the prototype full-frame cameras in a month or two. I think they'll have one of those prototype cameras to show us at the show in January, and I bet they'll go on sale slightly after that . . . though who knows how advanced they are in the development stages. It's possible they'll be shipping the first handful of full-frame Sigma cameras by Christmas, right? That would mean they'll have them almost ready in about a month though, and I don't think we've even seen what the name will be yet, so I think it's more likely they'll just have the name and a prototype to show by January, and start shipping small quantities of them by March, April, or even as late as May.

Still, I think they probably want to be able to do some testing with the beta versions of SPP 7 available to the development team, so it's probably right around the corner.

Hi Scott,

This problems been constant since SPP updated to 6.6.1 and I expect it will be addressed in a further update but it has been like this for a wee while now and nothing has moved on with SPP yet. 😫

As you say, many new things in the pipeline with Sigma. Interesting.

Cheers.

Scott,

Why SPP 7, maybe it will be SPP 6.6.2

S
Maybe, but they stepped up from SPP 5.x to 6.0 with the introduction of the Quattro sensor. I think it will be perfect timing for them to step up from SPP 6.x to 7.0 when they make the change from the SA mount to the L mount with a full-frame sensor. That just seems like what will happen. Hopefully we'll see an SPP 6.6.2 that works perfectly first though.

;)

6.6.1 does work on a mac , it is only this particular feature that has a problem.

Cheers.

I didn't notice any difficulties till yet. I just fiddled intentionally with the colour adjustment - but all went fine ...

Mac: Mac Pro 2013 with OS 10.11.6

“Color adjustment” still does not work on Yosemite 10.10.5.

The reason I have not moved to Mojave 10.14 is that my paid Photoshop CS6 and add ons are reported to have issues with Mojave. I am waiting for the new Mac Pro to be released before I move OS.

Hi Johannes,

You must be lucky. Try and move the cursor off the central 'cross hairs' in the "color adjustment" panel to any point and see what happens. If you have 6.6.1 it will probably go black and need a 'reset' to color adjustment to go back to the image.

The 'dropper' selection seems also be non functional but the image goes not black out, it just does not move the 'color adjustment' setting.

Cheers.

Hello:

I think you were making reference to the Sigma SD15 files - within the issue, correct?

I had previously downloaded (to test), :-) - the SD15 X3F RAW files - in SPP 6.6.1 (on MacOS), and sure enough moving the "cursor" / cross-hairs off the center POOF - the image goes black.

It is fine with Sigma SD1M (Merrill) and SD Quattro X3F RAW files, it does not "turn / go black".

Thinking it was you dealing with Sigma SD15 only files?

Am I correct..?

Ed

Hi Ed,

Correct. SD15 files.

Not too good is it, unlikely to be fixed by Sigma now.

Will just have to look for a downgrade to 6.6.0 , I suppose.

Good that you pointed this out, saves me waiting or holding my breath. for a fix ;-)

Thanks,

Stuart.

Hello Stuart:

I thought, (I will "re-check / re-test" - this later) - that when I ran the SPP 6.6.1 version on a MacOS - BootCamp - Windows 10 Pro version OS, then (I will make sure), the SD15 files DID actually work (edit) correctly?

Stay tuned - I will double-check to see if I recalled correctly.

Yes - I will be "simulating" the SD15 X3F RAW files (same one) "test" - in the SPP 6.6.1 - Windows OS based version.

Have a nice day / evening ...

Ed
