Hi All,

I know it has been done before, but I wanted something with Fall colors. There are very few leaves here that have turned, so I made use of what I could find.

200mm f/4 Micro + SB80DX and a little ps7 lighting effect.
thanX for looking!

This is very effective... you did a great job.

I’m assuming you placed the leaves in a dish or something and then put water on top. Had the (flowing) water hit the standing water and took the shot.
Am I at least close...lol

Hi Doug,

I saw a leaf fall into the bird bath, well that's all it took. LOL. I got a small Elmer's glue bottle, poked a pinhole in the bottom, and suspended it above the bird bath. The twist close top worked great for adjusting the rate of drip... ... ... ... ... ...

thanX for the comments.

Hi Joe,

thanX for the kind words. I don't see too many doctored images on this forum, hense my warning.

BTW, I really enjoyed the egert shots on your web site. When I get a chance I'm going to look at the rest.
Tim,

Superb image! I'd like to see more of this kind of work!

Hi Roger,
Thank you for the encouragement.

I have seen "art" on the Nikon Talk Forum. But on this forum, in the past, it seemed to me that most ppl were purists, and I can appreciate that. I like doing work that needs nothing but the right camera settings, composition, and a press of the shutter. I guess if this image was a little further away from reality I think I would have to call it an illustration.

You're welcome Tim, that was my point as well once you've reached peak taking pictures in a puritanic way, I feel one should push the envelope even if its once in awhile. There's one of mine posted it before its my roof on a hot day, I wanted to make it feel as if the tile was turning into flames.
Thanks
Roger

How did you get the leaves to look so flush with the bottom surface of the bird bath? It looks as if they were "computer generated." I love the image, however. Very nice work.
