Hi,

I'm looking for something similar to this:

This is for Sony A9. Does it exist for the 5D Mark IV?

Thanks for your help!

Anyone else has an idea? It doesn’t have to be perfectly identical to the one on the picture, but something similar.

I've never seen anything like that for any Canon DSLR. What, exactly, is the point? Does the Sony grip have electrical contacts for a vertical shutter release?

If I had to guess, which I don't but will anyway, looks to be purely mechanical to provide more to hold on to.

To OP, never saw anything like that either

The 5D4 is big enough not to need that. Unless of course you're hands are as big Andre the Giant.

To all,

Thanks for the inputs. Yes, it’s purely for grip. And yes my hand is big.

Anything similar maybe? A leather bottom thing that would be really thick thus adding extra grip? ... ?

Thanks.

I would just get the battery grip since it's readily available and will allow larger hands to feel more comfortable. Plus it allows two batteries and buttons for vertical orientation.

I got a Vello for my 7D2 and feels as well built as the camera. Time may prove that feeling wrong.

Your mileage may vary

Agree, a battery grip is probably the only option. Nothing wrong with 3rd party either, I've never had any problems (but I'm not a pro shooter either).

"The fact is that relatively few photographers ever master their medium. Instead they allow the medium to master them and go on an endless squirrel cage chase from new lens to new paper to new developer to new gadget, never staying with one piece of equipment long enough to learn its full capacities, becoming lost in a maze of technical information that is of little or no use since they don't know what to do with it."
