With the competition heating up in the mirrorless war, this is great news for us the consumers. Which company would you like to commit to?

I am still waiting for the A7III to come in.

So far, the A7iii seems to pack the best features per $ for FF (and it was released in February!). If FF or APS-C didn't matter, I'd be choosing Fuji XT-3. Love the looks and features. Still considering it. If it had IBIS, it might have convinced me to ignore FF advantages. I'll likely won't make a choice until March of next year, so I'm just letting this all play out.

Panasonic and MFT in general fit my needs perfectly. Plus MFT in general, makes for a very small and light kit.

What people fail to realize is that even 1" sensored cameras are capable of beating film cameras of yore in so many ways.

Personally, I have no interest in FF mirrorless.

I'm already a Fuji person and have a number of lenses, but I am not in the market for a new camera. Show me a minty X-T1 at a good price, though...

Yep, same for me

Yes, a Panasonic would be on my list, too. The smaller sensor with high pixel density would support my macro work in a very good way. I would keep the lenses I actually use for my Pentax system.

But on the contrary side would be the menu system of Panasonic. It's not as intuitively usable as the Pentax menu.

I am thinking very seriously about a two (or three) piece MFT for macro and walkaround myself. Except I would be interested in the smaller lenses and am considering the Pen F and the Oly 60mm.

There's certainly a lot of menus! However, at least in my case, once I thought it through and set up the camera the way I wanted, including the Quick Menu, I almost never have to go back to the main menu system. And each Panasonic is very similar, I've had four, so once you've set up one your pretty much there.

I've/had 5 out of those 6, and I'll be getting the Z7 (possibly the Z6 too) and the X-T3.

No immediate interest in the R at this point, but that might change.

I'm waiting to see tests of the Z lenses and will await larger selection before deciding.

Like the look of them though... :-D

I am not waiting for anything. My D7200 takes gorgeous photos. There will always be something new on the horizon to keep the revenue stream going, you are experiencing capitalism moving forward. I am 82, been watching this for a lot of years with any product you can name. Relax.

I did not expect that many Other. This generally means people are still favouring M43! That is surprising indeed.

The only mirror less camera I would consider is the Fuji GFX50, but it's too spendy for me.

Why is it surprising? It's a great system. Small and compact with great image quality.

Just today we were at a festival. I wore cargo shorts. Put the E-M10iii and 14-42EZ in one pocket and a fisheye in the other. I hardly knew they were there. I could have swapped the fisheye for the 40-150 and not noticed it and had a huge range of focal lengths in my pockets.

None of the other systems could have done that, including my Nikon DLSRs.

If not for M43 I may have looked at Fuji as the hype and constant stroking for Sony's mediocre stuff is annoying,

Of course it is easy to dismiss Fuji and Sony as "hype" and "mediocre" if you have never owned and used one for an extensive period.

Sure if you're outside at a festival, even a 1" sensor would rival the IQ of a FF and ApS-C. And as for size, I don't think that argument is valid anymore with cameras like Ricoh GR, Fuji X100 series, X70 and many many more. And the Sony A6XXX series with its kit lens or the 20mm pancake would easily fit in your pocket.

I on the other hand have owned and used a M43 camera and didn't like the result when there was a slight absence of light.

Because it had the lenses I want. It was fitting my need, budget and portability to performance requirement.

I would like Sony full frame such as A7 iii but I need to use fast primes to make out the benefits of full frame. Then it will go beyond my budget and size also become large.

So FUJI FTW

not interested in any other brands

As already said, why surprising? M4/3 represents a different set of compromises from other currently available systems, and if those compromises suit you then it's an excellent choice - and if not there are lots of other excellent choices available.

I do feel it's sad when I read in the Beginners forum something like "First camera. Shall I buy a Canon or a Nikon dslr?", but that's not going to change anytime soon.

No issues with Fuji - they have been making great cameras for a while. The Sony hype train is over the top and seems sickening. I doubt the cameras and system from Sony is that great as the images online don't look that much better than others, certainly not as much better given the huge hype.

Fair enough. I've got plenty of low light images from both the D750 and the M-10iii that look great up to ISO6400. There may be a little more noise in the Olympus but they still look great on a 4k monitor and at sane zoom levels. The 750 does pull away above that though.
