Patrick over at FujiRumors has the first sighting of the GFX50R

That guy works hard!

Not the clearest of shots but it shows the rangefinder styled layout, looks to be EVF only with no hybrid OVF.

Body size looks compact, which will be a nice change-up from the GFX50S.

Looking forward to seeing more as we get close to the official announcement date.

LOL....I just took delivery of the GFX 50S and a 32-64....but already have someone lined up that would buy it from me if I like the rangefinder style better.

Fuji is on a roll.

My wife has a special closet where she hangs new items, and leaves them their for a few weeks.

Then when she wears them, and I say 'is that new?', she correctly says 'no' :D :D :D

I now have a special closet in my home office... just saying' :D :D :D

Not really, the XE range have always been consumer models - I don't think the GFX50R will be a consumer model, or have stripped down features to put it in such a category.

It's just a compact form factor GFX

Looking forward to the first sighting of the price tag! :-)

For those USA folks who wish to sell their GFX 50s + tilt adapter in good condition (no tilted sensor) to get the GFX 50R, PM me. I'll buy the first reasonable deal. :)

I think Fujifilm needs to focus on the 100S instead as this would again open up significant IQ distance between the FF mirrorless coming out. Since PhaseOne just announced the IQ4 based on the 150MP 645 Sony BSI sensor I hope Fujifilm is also close, since the 44x33 100MP BSI sensor was released at the same time if I am not mistaken.

A "significantly lower price" is often mentioned in the rumors regarding the GFX50R. With image train (Sensor and Processor) likely the same as the 50S they must be cutting down on something else if this rumor is to be believed?

Making a camera more beautiful than the 50S is not so hard and I am sure I will be tempted by such. But not sure what it would give me, second body for street or travel?

Anyway, here is a MS Paint job of a 50S with some cut outs to match the leaked image of the 50R.

i don't think it is only about mpx, more important in the long run for fuji to compete with phaseone and hasselblad are lenses. 50mpx is more than enough for 99% of jobs but a lens comparable to 12 or14mm / FF or MF tele zoom lenses could make a real difference and attract more user. lenses are the strength of fujifilm anyway and they should focus on it. hasselblad and p1 need partner for their lens lines which makes them more expensive as needed. the price of phaseone lenses for example does not really reflect the actual performance but are the effect of the low number they are manufactured. fuji is also not limited by leaf shutter so extrem fast lesses are possible too !

The 33x44 100 MP BSI Sony sensor is already shipping in a P1 aero camera.
