Are there any classes or courses that I can take to improve color correction, retouching, and more as a retoucher? I feel that Im having lack of information and skill for color itself with photoshop and capture one pro.

I was at the print lab where photographer print and edit images for other photographer and one of their retoucher had a great skill who can edit raw files for accurate colors or unique color tones like National Geographic and @urbanxkai.

I want to improve my skill to advance or master for retouching and editing images since Im having trouble just because of the color itself. Im serious about this but I have no idea where I can take advanced or master class for retouching colors.

I live in NY btw. I wouldnt take Youtube tutorials since they dont talk and teach fundermental and deep idea about colors and retouching. Any suggestions?

I too, would be very interested in learning about digital color rendering and color management, as a subject independent of specific software programs.

Thanks for posting that question, hopefully we will get some good answers.

Addendum - lynda.com (always highly rated) offers a free month trial (maybe a winter project for me).

Thanks for the links Sabrina.

I've taken the Curvemeister 101 six-week online course and would highly recommend it.

Includes weekly Skype calls with the instructor.

(Uses the Curvemeister plug-in, which will require Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.)

There's also a more advanced 201 course if you're interested in continuing. I'd recommend that one also.

Here's a brief video of the instructor Greg Groess doing a basic color correction "by the numbers" of an image (that is, correcting color casts in shadows, midtones. and highlights) using the Curvemeister plug-in (in addition to RGB, it also provides access to LAB, CMYK, and HSB color spaces).

Thx for links but Im looking for more advanced and professional classes that I can study deeply in order to work as a professional ediotr. I dont mind to pay for classes.

Do you mean video instruction or are you looking for personal instruction?

If a book will suffice, I highly recommend Dan Margulis' book on Lab color. If you're serious about color, and it seems that you are, delving into Lab is an absolute must. With Lab, you can get results that sometimes are impossible with RGB.

If video instruction is what you're after, Deke McClelland is top notch. Lynda.com hosts his lessons.

If you want personal instruction, I'd recommend Dave Morrow. He is heart and soul into both photography and retouching. He's very down to Earth, check out his YouTube videos and his website.
