Hi,

here are some pictures from a recent cruise with the MS Ocean Diamond / Icelandic Pro Cruises.

I mainly used the 75-300 II and for sunsets/sunrises the 35-100/2,8 and am very happy with both. In Ilulisat we had perfect weather and 8 humpback whales playing the whole day in the most beautiful natural amphitheatre of the world, the Kainga icefjord.

I post these pictures not to discuss technical stuff but to convince you: go to Greenland. Once in your life. Go there. Its a photographers dream.

Kind regards

Stefan

thanks for sharing.

Okay, I need to add a cruise along Greenland to my bucket list.

Very beautiful captures of immense power and majesty. Thank you for sharing these.

This is one outstanding set of photos, makes me want to leave for there right now!!

Wow, how stunning and exciting! Thanks so much for posting:)

Excellent set of shots!I just returned from Iceland. Some similarities but not quite as primitive I guess.

Hi,

I have been to Iceland too before going on board. Love it equally and they are totally different. Iceland is about young and old volcanos, basalt, green grass cliffs, birds, waterfalls, moonscapes villages are not so nice and living is probably the most expensive in the world. Greenland is made by the oldest stone formations in the world, gneiss and granite, no cliffs, not much vegetation, gorgeous Scandinavian looking villages, dramatic fjords like in Norway, Ice up to 3000 meters thick icebergs of course, Inuit culture, drier as rainy Iceland. Greenland is cheaper than Iceland, probably because of the Danish Subvention or the Danish crown. Iceland you can't have a decent meal below 50 Dollars. Fantastic combination. I can only recommend to do the Greenland trip via Iceland.

Stefan

Thanks for the info. If you can't have a decent meal for under €50, I'll visit Greenland. Plus, it looks more interesting. So, you suggest flying to Iceland and going from there to Greenland? Why is that?
