so in other words do you have anything related to photography that you will never sell - you will keep for life ?

My Pentax K1000 SE and its 50mm f/2 and 85mm/2. I'm not sure yet where my final digital loyalty will settle, although candidates are emerging, starting with the Pentax DFA 100mm f/2.8 WR Macro.

nope. Cameras are stuff and I don't get emotionally attached to stuff. Someday my equipment will be rendered obsolete by some new technology or other advancements. At that point, it will be time to upgrade. I'm not talking DSLR vs. Mirrorless but that could be the breaking point. However, it may be something that we've never even heard of yet.

Camera gear? LOL!!! NO! My photographs, well that's a different story.

so if you found a fantastic lens there is no way you would think it was a "keeper " ?

My Fuji 35mm 1.4 lens.

Too many family memories captured in a beautiful way to ever discard this lens.

I'll let the kids keep my equipment. They should be able to get some extended usage out of it. At least one hopes! :-D

+1. Okay, the kids do NOT have to use that!!! :-O

I don't sell any camera equipment, I use it til it no longer works or no longer meets my needs. After that I just toss it or give it away.

The only thing I'll be buried with is my phone, fully charged of course. My daughter has been instructed to call it during the funeral, preferably during a nice solemn point of the service.

Actual back room stock from a camera store that closed in 2003. A 1963 model with a price tag of $179, and it still works perfectly. As for my digital equipment - who knows? I imagine it will all be given away by then.

Just wondering. It's a bit of a comment on it being the gear you own rather than the photos you took that you value most. ;-)

My monopod + video head.

It will make for a great tool to beat off the demons in the afterlife :-D
