I haven't used my camera in a couple or three weeks , so..

today I got it out to take a photo and the playback button didn't respond . I usually do that to see how full the camera card is. The screen and viewfinder looked normal BUT the menu button did NOT bring up the menu and the center button on the dial didn't bring up the options to change settings in the LCD screen. I did mash the shutter and it sounded like it took a photo but couldn't check since the playback button doesn't work.

These problems are sudden since the last time I used the camera everything was working fine .

I sure hope nothing is terribly wrong with my camera . I do like it a lot.

Oh I have had it about 4 years .

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

Recharge the battery and try again. You could also try removing and re-inserting the memory card to make sure it is properly seated.

You could also try a different lens (unlikely to be the problem, but worth trying). It's also worth fiddling with all the buttons and dials to see that none of them are causing the problem.

Otherwise - it sounds like you may have to return it to Olympus for repair.

I did get out my extra battery and it has a new card inside too. I noticed the left dial doesnt tuen it off the "A" setting and still the menu button - actually all the buttons in that area do not respond ..

ugh ! I think u r right about sending it in for repair . At least i will inquire .

Thank u , Margaret Anne
