Do you have any Sigma Art lenses? What does this update actually do?
Probably Sigmas stop working; and that is it.

Have you ever seen a rainbow. Or a garden blooming bright.
Sigma 50 Art still works too

With the newer Sigma's, does Sigma send updates down via the net / docking station?

Thanks.

Looking to get myself a 35mm 1.4 Art in the near'ish future.

Didn't see it here, so I looked it up. It appears this is the content of the entire firmware update per Nikon:

• The SETUP MENU > Time zone and date > Time zone display now shows only the names of major cities in the currently selected zone.

Gonna go with a hard pass on this one.

Nikon really takes great care of its users. This is a very crucial update for Nikon D810 users. We do not need any new features, just the time zone thing is plenty enough for us. Don't spoil us Nikon with any new firmware in the next 2-3 years :)

Yup, forget really important things like D5s, D750 or D610 upgrades, how about new lens? Nope, we got a really important firmware update, LOL

This was probably urgently needed, because North Korea changed its time zone recently. ;-)

I don't understand....Why is this "crucial"?

Why should I risk my Sigma lenses no longer having AF over the names of cities in time zones?

Updated with no problems; Only non-Nikon lens, my Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 DI VC USD, operates normally.
