I took this yesterday using the WC-DC58N Wide-Converter.
This was hand-held at 1/8 sec. (!) The only post-processing was
to bump up the mid-tones slightly; I accidently had the exposure
compensation set at -1/3.
The DOF is naturally low due to wide-open aperture...

LOL! I'm not sure if this post is making me hungry for a big juicy burger or a Canon wide-converter. :-)

Actually, that was a barbequed pork sandwich, and the guy
who makes the sauce has won competitions with it.
Much better than a hamburger!

This next shot was at 1/6 sec from 2 inches away.
the focus is extremely narrow, as you can see
(about an inch past the near rim)

I love BBQ pork, or anything for that matter.

The beer shot shows the Wide angle a little better. I need to get myself set up with lenses for my G3 (wide converter, tele, macro, etc.).

Well, I finally decided to just bite the bullet (on the price and lack of front threads) and took the plunge on the Canon converters. Ordered them from YesMicro.com, which seems to have the best prices AND seems reputable enough. Hopefully, I'll receive them in time for the weekend.

Dave:

With my brand new G5 in hand and after viewing your presentation re: Wide-Converter demo, I'm taking the plunge and going out right now to get a Pork BBQ and a Bud Light.
Nice shot and the lens does a great job.

Maybe I should get some sort of commission!

This next shot of my favorite subject was in RAW mode.
G3 was mounted on a tripod, and set 3 - 4 inches away.
ISO 50, f5.6, 1 sec shutter.
Exposure was bumped up a good bit, (was underexposed)
and white balance were tweaked slightly.
Slight Levels adjustment; no sharpening added.
The depth of field is actually surprising considering how
close the lense is to my favorite subject...
