Does anyone know of a tilt/shift, or just tilt or shift adapter that fits on an Oly EM-5 II? I would need to get a manual lens so it makes no difference if it is made for Canon, Nikon etc.

Thanks,

Dom

You need to be clear on the FL of the lenses you plan to use and how big an image circle it needs to cover the T-S. If you want say 12mm for wide angle shots, then your lens choices are limited and expensive.

I finally decided to get a used Sony A7R and an adapted Canon 24mm TSE II, the king of TS lenses.

If you are happy with 24mm FL and up, then you have a lot of options.

Tilt adapters for manual lenses are easy to find. Tilt-shift or shift is scarcer. This is a $35 Minolta - M4/3 tilt adapter showing how much it tilts.

And a couple of pictures taken with the tilt adapter and a 28mm lens:

So you are using this adapter on an EM-5 II? So far I have contacted a couple of manufacturers and they have said that their adapters don't work on my EM-5 II. Which one are you using?

I've used it on E-M10 and E-M1. I don't know any reason why it wouldn't work on an E-M5II, or any micro four thirds camera.

Search on Ebay. Ones like I have might have the name Roxsen or Fotga or no brand name. They might be all the same and come direct from China. The one I have seems to be plenty good enough quality for my needs.

There are also adapters made by Kipon available on ebay , including tilt-shift. They cost several hundred dollars and I can't tell you anything about them.

Just an FYI, I have the LensBaby Tilt-Transformer which I like, tossed a nikon 28mm lens on it, someday may get a 24mm for it.

However it WILL NOT FIT the Olympus EM5.2. It just, and I mean just, is a bit to big and interferes with the overhang of the "prism". I was tempted to simply grind a bit off, probably could have worked, but was leaning towards a Pen F anyway so purchased one during a sale and the lens baby fits fine on that, so I just use it exclusively on the Pen F. Seems to work well, fun to use from time to time, the 2x crop factor on the Nikon lenses obviously is a downside for anything approaching wide angle shots, but such is life.

Ok. thanks for all the replies. I guess EM5 II users like myself are SOL!. It appears from what I am reading and being told, the "prism" hump gets in the way of mounting and/or using the tilt or shift function. I love the camera otherwise, but I am very disappointed with this situation.

If anyone hears of anything that does work, please post. Maybe a second body like a used PEN F would solve the problem.

Thanks,

Dom

That type of tilt adapter (RJ Camera) has a dia of 88mm. The Fotga one is different, may be smaller, and I know some on this forum own this and may be able to give you the dimensions.

I don't have a micrometer to check accurately but my Pixco tilt adapter looks like it's outside diameter is around 63mm, just holding a ruler up to it.

Just measured my lens baby, it's diamter at the mount area is 2.730-inches (about 69mm). If it was 67mm it would probably have fit.

Kipon make a tilt/shift/rotate adapter for various mount systems for use on M4/3.

This is a very well made product.

However because of the protruding mechanism it does not work properly on an E-M1 body (grip size and faux mirror box hump). It might not fit and work properly on an E-M5 body.

It fits and works well on RF style bodies - GX7, GX85, GM5. It might work properly on the Pen-F.

E-M5 II baffels are different IIRC.
This makes me curious as to what is different about the E-M5II than the other Olympus cameras that would affect this. There is nothing about the adapter that protrudes into the camera.

Bruce a “proper” tilt/shift/rotate has all sorts of mechanical bits sticking out of it which make it difficult to even mount let alone properly function on a camera with a large grip and/or faux mirror box hump.

I just tried mine on a G9 and the protruding shift adjustment lever prevented it mounting when it came up against the faux mirror box hump. Even if it could be shifted-twiddled to mount on the camera the shift and rotate actions would be to severly compromised to make it of much use.

I will take a picture of my set up and show just how much more complex this adapter is over a simple tilt-only version. Fits and works fine on a RF style body - might even work on an E-M10.

Yeah, but what do they look like? Are they similar to the Fotga? Most of these are two varieties, sold under many different names.

There are a couple of pictures of the one I have within this post. I'm not familiar with the Fotga adapter to be able to compare. And Tom is right, it's twist to tilt.

If it's that close, I'd be pretty tempted to take a file to the Lensbaby there and remove a bit of metal...
