Ive spent the last few days to get the native thumbnail capability of win photo viewer working on my pc and im not having any luck.

Do any of you have a link to what needs installed to make the ORF files viewable?

The official MS Windows CODEC pack doesn't have the most recent models, so may or may not help. The camera list and download are on this page .

Be nice if they updated it.

Cheers,

Rick

You can probably still download the old Picasa program. It is no longer supported, but it has no problem with any of the ORF files I have tried including the E-M1.2. I don't know if it would work for the E-M10 Mk3.

Ill have to give those a shot, sometimes DX0 is just cumbersome to sift through

I tried this previously with Windows 10, and gave up. There are some sources on the web that say it should work via special codec packs, but I don't want to spend money on those and couldn't find a way to do it for free.

I ended up buying FastRawViewer which works very well (fast) and is extremely customizable to your desires/requirements. Apparently it converts and lets you look at the RAW image, not just the embedded JPG.

I have just bought a Dell XPS laptop with Windows 10 Professional and the Windows Photo Viewer display both JPG and ORF right from the start, even before I install any Adobe software. It must be the new updates that carry the right CODEC; or may be it is the Windows Professional version.

I need to double-check that there hasn't been a background update, because my Win10 Pro PC didn't display E-M1ii ORFs when I first set it up. I forget how much updating occurs behind the scenes and they may have added the model.

Cheers,

Rick
