Beautiful colouring.

A dull day today. Took a short cut through the cemetery.

Thank you. Tom.

I'm hoping that you being out for a walk is a good sign.

Your recent posting of the Titanic sign, and now the cemetery
reminds me of a visit to Halifax, Nova Scotia and the resting place
of several of the souls who lost their lives when the liner perished.

Very sad reading, especially of a young cabin boy from Liverpool
on his first sea trip.

Nice photos, Tom, it is good experience, went i went to a chinese cemetery, it often comes with picture of the deseasesd, and often we see the photos and the era of clothing of the people from 100 over years ago.

I love to take a slow walk there also sometimes :)

Regards,

-Jack

Thank you, Jack. We can indeed learn a lot from cemeteries.

This is a good framing pictures within pictures within pictures and framed behind our monitor or Phone screen :) indeed it is an art within art.

On the other hand, here are some shots that i took today during my lunch hour near my office. Please bare with me with my newbie photographer shots :)

If you smell what the rock is cooking? It looks like the black beans that my mom used to make soup with :)

Some very dull rocks, Probably done to death but since I am a newcomer to photography, I might as well share and get some comment/critique from you guys.

In anticipation of summer at my sister's place on Hornby Island, B.C., I was reviewing some of my landscapes that I take every year when I am there. Cruise ships leave Vancouver and head up the coast for Alaska. They pass my sister's place in the evening twilight and the views are indeed magical with the mountains, the ocean, the sky and the amazing light.

Every year the views are the same but different, and here is a composite of three fav shots. One of my fav cruise ship because of the way the light is striking the bow of the boat, second, a view of the moon, and I also added another layer of mountain. What is interesting to me, who used to be an inveterate Photoshopper and loved to make intricate composites with multiple layers and add all sorts of filters, is that this is not done in Photoshop, but in a lowly program which doesn't even do layers, Picasa. All I did was add these three images into the collage tool of Picasa and used the multiple exposure filter to superimpose the images, even tho you cannot manipulate the images. I'm sure that those sophisticated users who are experts in PS will be able to immediately see that it is not done in PS, and be able to see all sorts of flaws. But this isn't bad for a program which is very elementary and crude. Sometimes the multiple exposure doesn't work at all and have to choose the images carefully. But in this instance I think it works fine. It is a little over saturated and I should have put it in Lightroom or Gimp to fix a few things, such as a highlighting and darkening slightly of the second layer of mountains. I didn't manipulate the colours except for a little saturation which occurred naturally during the multiple exposure. The light at dusk in this northern area of B.C. during the summer is indeed not to be believed.

But I lay it before you as is, IMHO a magical landscape, to show that Picasa is a very under appreciated program and Google was indeed off it's rocker when they decided to cancel support for it!! Long live Picasa!

Marvelous - like a dream, just the message the cruise lines want to send.
