I just bought the F505 camera, but extra memory sticks were on backorder. Where's the best place to buy memory sticks. I don't want to be stuck with just a 4MB memory stick for an extended period.

I think I saw a post stating that B&H Photo has them more reasonably than Sony. I do not recall thier URL though. Someone else know?

Softwarebuyline is terrible if anything goes wrong and since this item
is now out of stock (since November 10), how are you going to find out
when it will be in stock and when it ships? I ordered just before it
went out of stock, and had a miserable time finding out if my order
really shipped. There is NO telephone number on the web site and there
is no web tracking feature either.

While waiting to make contact with these idiots, I ordered from
cameraworld by telephone. They matched the softwarebuyline price
and knew what they were doing. It was actually cheaper since
softwarebuyline charges me California sales tax and then ships the
item from the east coast. So the Cameraworld package arrived faster.
Softwarebuyline packed 2 memory sticks in a 14x16x4 inch box and
they still did a lousy job (wedged one stick under each of the
bottom cardboard box flaps). I learned my lesson about Softwarebuyline
and it only cost me a few dollars MORE to buy from them.

Deal with quality companies like Cameraworld, B&H and Normancamera.

If you have trouble with softwarebuyline the telephone number
I used is 650-237-6746 in California. Someone will hunt around for
a piece of paper and get your name and number and call you back so
be ready to sit by your telephone.

I agree with dealing with a quality company! B&H is my first choice. I just bought a 32mB MemoryStick for $85 plus $6 shipping (in stock... and I believe them from my previous experience). It's not worth the hassle, for a couple bucks difference. BTW, the battery is out of stock at B&H.

No, I don't work for Softwarebuyline, but I did see that they now have an online order status. Yep, the phone number is hidden in the "Our Company/Contact Us page which would be better if they just put up a "Customer Service" link. I did call the customer service number at Softwarebuyline (800 939-1551) to check on my order and received two returned calls with the direct extension # of the CS person who supplied me with the UPS tracking number. Yes, my order shipped from Tenn and I paid California sales tax. I also got an oversized box full of useless popcorn. But I did get what I paid for in a timely manner and the memory sticks worked fine. (ordered 11/2/99). I'd order from them again if the item was in stock at the right price. Just my $.02

Excellent outfit to do business with! Prices just a bit more than rock bottom, but they're honest about stocking & no problems with billing. Very knowledgeable staff. I ordered a 32mB MemoryStick on Monday, and it was in my hands Weds. $86 plus $5 shipping. Previous experience with them was equally satisfactory.
