If anyone is waiting to get their hands on an M50 Camera Centre UK have them in stock as 15-45mm kit. Just went to the local park and I bumped into a guy I hadn't seen in years using one and he told he'd just got it from their Cardiff branch. They also have a branch in Newport. I had a quick play with the camera and it's pretty nice to use, doesn't look ugly either as some here have suggested. The guy was using it with a Sigma 18-200 and adapter and to my surprise it didn't feel front heavy or unwieldy in use. Might get me one in the near future.

I got mine (from Currys!) on 7 April and have reported my thoughts on the forum with enthusiasm - I’m quite impressed with it and like it more than I expected to, given my previous experience with Canon mirrorless. I think Currys got the first UK stock and they’ve sold out for the moment, I see.

I didn't know Currys had them in.Thought I'd reported the first UK sightings. I've seen some of your posts and wrongly assumed you were from across the pond.Funny how neither WEX or Jessops haven't had any for sale yet given that their business is selling cameras unlike Currys who sell just about anything attached to a plug :-)

First post on this site to say I also picked one up from Currys a couple of weeks ago - cancelled my Jessops preorder when Canon advised me to check with them and like you was very surprised that they had it before the photographic specialists.

It's my first ILC, and I have to say I'm absolutely loving it so far, but the real test will be when I take it on holiday next week!

Glad your loving it.I've just come off the phone and purchased one body only from Camera Centre UK. I was going to hang on for a few weeks but it was lust at first site. This is first time in 28 years in photography that I've bought a camera shortly after release, usually wait at least a year before biting the bullet but I thought what the heck lets go for it.

Wex had M50 stock around release day, although I note they’ve sold out for now.

Are you sure ? I've been checking their site regularly since the camera was first announced and the stock status has always shown as available for pre order. If they did have them in stock they must have sold them out pretty quickly. Called them on Wednesday and they could not tell me when they were expecting a shipment from Canon.

Yes, I had one in my basket a number of times over a couple of days as I dithered over buying one to complement my M5.

I’ve no idea how many they got in, obviously.

In the end, I went with an M6, but that’s another story!

Fair enough I obviously missed it. How are you getting on with the M6 ?I prefer the extra physical controls on that camera but unfortunately I struggle without a viewfinder so I've gone for the M50.

It was the extra dials that made me switch from Nikon mirrorless to the M5 in the first place to be honest, I use the exposure compensation dial a lot.

I very much like the M6, but like you I need a viewfinder for a lot of my use, so picked up a viewfinder for it as well. It feels very familiar as you’d expect.

I got the M6 so that I could pair it without viewfinder with the 22mm f2 as a pocketable walkabout camera, which covers something more easily than I could do with the M5. I’d been looking at an M100 to do something similar, but ended up with the M6 as it is quite small still and takes the same battery as my M5 which swayed me a bit.

I think I’ll skip the M50 and see what comes out next, but not really interested in any FF mirrorless that Canon may be releasing.

I was checking WEX daily and also had it in my basket several times but I believe it was as a pre-order only?

Also went for the M6 in the end..... another story......

Unless I’m going mad, they definitely went green and were in stock for a couple of days, but I guess there weren’t many left after any pre-orders were fulfilled.
