Yes. You can. The issue is that the X-Pro1 is slightly smaller than the X-Pro2 and the case is going to be a bit loose. I have both cameras and the case. If you want I can take pictures so you see how loose it will be.

Oh, how nice of you, thank you very much, and if you have mhg-xpro, the one with opening for battery, i want to see how fit is it with x-pro1, thank you El

Is the tripod socket screw in the same place on the X-Pro1 and X-Pro2? I was under the impression that it is not, but I do not have an X-Pro2 to confirm.

If it isn't than any talk of X-Pro2 cases/grips/etc on an X-Pro1 is a non-starter.

And yes, grips/cases for the X-Pro1 are becoming harder to find. Frankly EBay is your only hope, no one else has any stock.

Check the images of the X-Pro1 in the case designed for the X-Pro2. It is difficult to see how loose it is but perhaps you can notice how the focus lever next to the lens mount is recessed inside the case. It might work, but definitely it is not as snug as using the case designed originally for the X-Pro1

LOL! They are more expensive than an X-Pro1 with a case at now a days prices . . . .

I had the same “ problem” finding a case for my new secondhand X-Pro1. I emailed all the photoshops and asked them if there was one left, I got three positive answers and bought one of it. Very cheap and in box as new, . . .
