These were shot with the K-1, Sigma 500mm F4.5 and Sigma 1.4x TC. Now I didn't go out intending to capture action, I hadn't setup the camera ideally and shooting 700mm on FF at close range with fast moving subjects makes it very hard to keep the center point on the subject so I deleted plenty(hundreds) of bad photos. Here are the few that came out.

Hi Mike, great shots!

best regards,

Love those captures Mike.

A lot of hard work there but worth it.

Nos. 6,7,8 are the best ones.

Well done!

Superb!

Very cool Mike. 1,7, 8 for me.

Fantastic series Mike, looks like zero focusing issues to me!

Mike, just a suggestion on #7. You could remove those 2 bright areas of bokeh and lighten the face of the duck just a bit. Then I'd hang it on the wall.

Cheers,

Gary

When not at ∞ and using f4.5, the DOF must be Nil for such a large lens. Some shots across your field of vision and some at ¾. I'd waste a lot more than 250 shots with my lighter K-5 and DA*300 mm. Great shots! Also points to improved K-1 auto-focus?

Any post-shot work to sharpen? Red-tailed hawk and Canada's pooping in mid-flight are v, good.

Cheers
