Patience, patience! Like B&H because they take paypal credit (no interest no payment for 6 months), great return policy. And no sales tax (I believe Best Buy for example adds sales tax which is not insignificant at a 2k purchase.

Little update. Best Buy no longer allows you to order the A7 III kit, instead it says "Coming Soon". As I posted last night you could order the kit at that point and get it delivered 4/11 or pick it up on 4/10. Seems orders are still coming in for each retailer.

Just a note on the BuyDigi offer.
I did some research on the Bower flash they include and apparently it needs an adaptor to fit on to a Sony A7 series hot shoe which is annoying. Also the unit seems to chew through batteries and is not very flexible in terms of settings. But hey, what more do you expect from a flash unit that retains at $38 and is included free lol

I pre-ordered from B&H about a week ago. I'm sure I'm nowhere near the top of the list, which is fine. BUT... I'm now regretting ordering my lens at the same time. I worry that the 30 day return policy on my lens could be over or nearly over before the camera shows up. I haven't opened the lens yet and now I'm wondering if I should just return it and buy it again when I get a delivery date on the camera. I'm sure the odds of a defect in the lens are very small but I hate the thought of a $900 lens and no prospect of returning it.

I also ordered a lens with mine, but consolidated them into the same order. Nevertheless I was notified that my lens (and it’s warranted) we’re ready earlier. However since this order is for in store pickup I expect b&h to fix this for me.

So this beauty arrived today. It's torture having your lens but no camera! Last night Best Buy would allow me to change the order to store pick up so I called in today to make the change and it was too late. Lol I can't catch a break. The good news is they're telling me it will arrive next Wed.

I suspect if you haven't received your camera in time that B&H will extend the 30 days. Give them a call.

I wanted to buy the 85mm 1.8 at the same time too. But by the time the camera shipped the 30 day return window would be over. So I'm just going to wait till it ships and then order the lens the same day. Hopefully I'll get it 2-3 days after I get the camera. In the mean while I'll be using my Canon glass on it.

Interesting. Ordered mine a month ago from B&H and didn't even give a thought to the fact that they wouldn't have enough to fill the pre-orders. Sort of thought that was the point of pre-ordering. At any rate does anyone know if you don't make the "first batch" how long the 2nd/3rd etc batches are behind the first?
I have my A7 and my favorite lenses so while I'd love to have the new A7iii in my hands I'm still happy to keep shooting my 7. Just was thinking I'd have it before my next overseas trip in May...but maybe not. Either way...seems like it will be a pretty large step up from my a7. I've been spending $$ on FE lenses over the last few years waiting for the next body I really felt was going to make a difference for me without breaking the bank. I finally purged my A-mount Minolta and Sony lenses and all FE/E now. Can't complain a bit.

Best Buy just charged me for my pre-order and with them that generally means they have the item in-stock and ready so ship. I was hoping Crutchfield would ship before and I could cancel Best Buy but I'll be happy to get either one

Has anyone heard anything from Adorama aside from an email saying the item is still on backorder? I ordered later in the day on release and just got an email saying still Backordered. Really hoping they at least ship my camera on the 10th.
