Not an absolute, but I've noticed several online retailers, the more grey market kind, no longer carrying Olympus products, especially lenses. They used to barely a few months ago but no more. Like Kacha or Eglobal, the latter had amazing, "too good to be true" kind of prices. Not sure what happened.

Of course, plenty of other retailers still sell Olympus gear, at the more inflated prices we are familiar with. Not interested in those. :)

Anyway, just wondering if this is random or if there's more to the story.

I don't know; but, I have always gotten my gray market shipped directly from Japan. A couple of dealers I've used who give good service, good packaging and fast shipping is DWI-International and einfinityshop on e-bay.

Both had good e-bay ratings and gave one-year warranties; however, I have never had to avail myself of a warranty claim.

Not so in UK, at least so far, with some sellers: e.g. e-infinity oly 40-150 f2.8 £689 ( and TC1.4 139 ) vs £1099 for the lens alone for UK stock. These are shipped ex Manchester UK with a 1 year warranty. Noticed em1.2 also still much cheaper on some sites.

I have used grey market sellers, with good reputations for 5+ years - average saving 30%. Have to say this is a ridiculously high discount and can't see how it can be sustainable for high street or online UK/EU stock sellers.

you can still find gray market vendors on amazon

Yes, Olympus did. Eglobal had terrific prices on Olympus lenses (about 40% less), but Olympus is now refusing to supply them anymore. I got this info from Eglobal.

It is a pity. You could find the new 25mm 1.2 for 800 Euros, just like the 40-150 2.8

I hope it will be temporarily...
