not fully throughout the zoom range.Hi,
Using the Super 35 video mode there is a 1.5x crop on the a7r3.
If I put on a 10-18 would it fully cover the video frame - that is not vignette?
thanks.
Super 35 covers a bit larger sensor area than APS-C, see here: https://cvp.com/support/page/image-sensor-size-comparisonHi,
Thats what I’ve read people say about photos.
Are you sure that’s what it looks like when shooting XAVC Super 35 video?
Thanks!! If you could check I’d really appreciate it. I’ve got a long trip coming up and need to dial in a lightweight video solution. At Full Frame I can get almost to 12mm without heavy vignetting. If you are shooting Super-35 I would expect this lens to perform all the way to 10mm. I have this combo, and will check it out if I can later today.
OK - when I got to the office I popped the 10-18 on the A7R3 and put it in Super 35 4K mode. I took some quick videos of walls and surroundings. There is no physical vignetting cutoff at all. At 10mm you do seem some gradual fall off in the corners - not unlike what you would see with any wide angle lens. It looks pretty good actually - I have only used this lens for still when I needed to get wider FF than my 16-35- taking me to almost to 12mm full frame. I just wish all lenses on the A7r3 were this lightweight. Thanks!! If you could check I’d really appreciate it. I would definitely reach out in the Sony a6500 community to see what experiences they have with the 10-18 regarding focusing capability. As I havent used this for video I can't really say how it works in that mode.Cool - thanks!
Ive got the 28 for low light, but the 10-18 will be great for versatility. Using them both on a Crane Plus gimbal for a few weeks in China.
Again - really appreciate the help!
