I have the a6000 and recently got the godox xpro s and the godox ad200. I got to pair the xpro and the ad200 but I could not make it fire. The option for wireless flash on the menu of the a6000 is greyed out or disabled. Am i doing something wrong or are they not compatible?

I believe you'll need to use the other flash modes with the Godox system. The "wireless" mode probably only works on Sony wireless flashes. I use the Godox system and leave it on fill mode and it works just fine.

With my A6000 I'm using the Xpro with two TT600s and they work great, sorry I don't have the AD200.

But I don't change any settings on the camera, just plug in the Xpro. If you change to manual mode and move around the setting, does the display on the AD200 change? If so that at least means they are wirelessly in sync. If it doesn't change then I would guess the AD200 isn't in the correct mode. Check your channel number and your group A,B,C etc.

I don't think "wireless mode" on the a6000 has anything to do with it. The a6000 will treat the xpro as a connected flash, and then the xpro communicates wirelessly with the ad200 to control it.

From the shutter button on the camera? The test button the XPro? the test button on the AD200? How do you know the Xpro and AD200 are paired if the flash doesn't fire?

You're not doing anything wrong. And they are compatible.

It's just that the Sony cameras don't know how to speak the Godox X radio system. :) They only (typically) speak Sony's own WL wireless system (optical) [Sorry, I don't know enough about Sony's RF flash wireless system to say anything about it].

You don't use the camera menu to control the Godox X stuff. You use the XPro.

Things you'll want to check to make sure everything's set up correctly:
  • Are the batteries fully charged and in good health in everything?
  • Are both the Xpro and AD200 set to the same channel?
  • Is the AD200 set to radio slave mode?
  • Is the Xpro's DIST C.Fn set to match the distance between the XPro and the AD200? (i.e., if used close together, then "0-30m" should be set).
  • Is the XPro's ID C.Fn set to OFF? If not, is the AD200's firmware up-to-date so you can set a matching ID on the AD200?
  • Is the Xpro set to fire the group the AD200 is set to?
  • Is the a6000 out of any modes that might disable flash? (silent or electronic curtain are often a culprit here).

I can change the group, channel and power of the ad200 with the xpro but I can’t get it to fire. Weird thing is when I used regular AA batteries the wireless option can be enabled and the ad200 would fire but with a delay... i will acquire focus press the shutter and it would take about 2 seconds to take the pic.

I had similar problem with xpro with my TT600, after 2 days of frustration figured that i had WIRELESS ON, same channel, but FLASH was on MANUAL SLAVE, all i had to do was to switch it to SLAVE with wireless on and that fixed it, hope that helps...;-)
