Has anyone used the RX10 Mkiii for UV photography?

The title says it all, really. How does it work? Did it do a good job? Thinking of getting into it.

to get the best out of uv photography you need a converted camera and specialist lens with crystal quartz glass etc.

A full spectrum camera with a b&w 403 filter will allow you a taste but results will be limited.

Since cameras come with UV filters over the sensor the RX10iv will not be very good for UV photography. What people usually do is buy an older camera cheap and have the UV filter removed.

What is UV photography? I've only ever heard of IR (infra red) photography.

jpeg there are 2 main types of uv photography. One is fluorescence which is recording images of things that glow under uv light which any camera can cover.

The second is reflective photography which needs a uv sensitive camera with filters that only allow uv rays through. Most common is near uv ( uva) and a b&w 403 filter. If indoor you need uv flashguns .

its used by forensics and can detect bruises under the skin etc , but photographically it used for flower photography giving you an insight to what insects see and they tell different flowers apart.

Makes interesting landscapes with purple skies and white foliage.

Yes, I was thinking of IR. UV photography is new to me.

Look at the picture, not the pixels
here`s a few uv shots.

.look at how only the centre markings standout and all other colour is lost (this image sooc without pp)

I like the second one.

Please note. I am an idiot. I meant IR photography though I like the UV samples...

Has anyone used the RX10 Mkiii for IR photography?! ;)

Are you going to disassemble/modify your camera yourself, or send it off to someone else to convert it?

Plenty of IR converted cameras on FleaBay or buy a Sony DSC-F828 and use the magnet trick to put it in IR mode (IR and UV maybe?) with no restrictions and have a blast.
How does that work? If I see a cheap 828 for sale I might buy it just to do it.

Thank you. It looks really easy to do. He said it works with a 717 as well.
