Sony Batteries don't have covers, what are your trick to tell died and fully charged batteries

My old canon batteries all had covers on them, depending on the orientation of the cover I put on, it would indicate whether the battery is full or drain. What's your trick with Sony? and does anyone think there should be covers to protect batteries?
I see a lot of people number their batteries and then use them in order.

I don't number but probably should but that doesn't help in their usage. I use battery grips on both my A9 and A7RIII and carry the two cameras and right now two spares for a total of 6 batteries. So if I where to put #1 and #2 in one grip and #3 and #4 in the next then I might need to use #5 after #1 or #2 or after #3 or #4 depending on how the grips decided to use them. Numbering seems to be an approach when you have one body only.

Had the same issue with the battery grip on my 5D Mark II, III, IV or 7D and 7D Mark II which all used the same battery type.

Even toddlers know that E=mc^2, which means m=E/c^2. So a fully charged battery is heavier than a discharged one. You simply need to hold the one just removed from the camera, and the other one. If it's heavier, it's charged.

Science bi***! ;)

Full in one pocket, used in another, I've used this method for years.

The spare inside the photo bag pocket is full; the one in the camera might be or not; I only use 2 batteries with my A7RM3, but if I had one more I would have a dedicated "empty battery bag pocket/sleeve" for it... :)

I use a plastic-to-size-bag, but I guess I would prefer/buy an original protection cover... ;)

All the best,
Pedro

I use a Thinktank battery case.

All by batteries have a number in permanent marker.

In the case, charged batteries are stored contacts down, and used batteries are contacts up (exposed). Easy to track.

But since switching to the A7R3 I rarely need more than 1 battery a day.
I use my system to ensure I cycle batteries.
ha... I do exactly the same thing and just posted that prior to reading your comments. works very well, also in that it keeps them in a proper case and safer than being lose.
Looks like there are at least three great minds on the forum. ;-)

I use the same system except with a Lenscoat 2 battery pouch, perfect size for a Z battery (or LP-E6).
Can you please share a link from where I can purchase the pouch? (perhaps Amazon?)

This is the one I use now, it is 2 pouches that hold 2 batteries each. You can get different colors if you have multiple battery types. I like it a little better than the Think tank but both are excellent.

I have small zip lock bags for them (to protect contacts from shorting). I store them charged with contacts down, discharged contacts up.
