"3 type 104 million dots Bali angle touch panel liquid crystal." :D

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Put me in the minority, but I actually like using the tilt screen better. More discreet when shooting candids, and faster when shooting macros.

I Googled it. "Bali angle" has something to do with "a mountainous island in Indonesia". :-)

I agree in some cases that the tilt screen is better. Especially when the camera is aligned with the eye at a higher or lower elevation. Overall, I would choose the flip screen for more versatility and it allows for excellent screen protection when storing the camera or using it in harsh conditions.

The Japanese don't pronounce the letter "V" the way we do. So when translations happen, you'll likely see a "B" in the place of "V"
Same with 'R' and 'L', BaLi woudl be Vari, in combinaison with the "3 type", I guessed it was about 3 way vari angle probably a name for the swivel and pivot screen attachement.

I love the screen on my 600D and did put the extra $$ comparing to the 550D that was still available only for that option, in addition to better protection, I don't have my big nose on the screen when taking a picture, either it is closed or on the side.

Ok, regarding discretion, the big DSLR with battery grip is any way not really a good start.

I think the "type" is actually a weird machine mistranslation of "inch". After all, a vari-angle display only has two degrees of freedom, not three.

Well I started this thread as a joke and to point out the stupidity of all those sites that are incapable of using logic to correct a translation. Logic dictates that the spec should read:

"3 inch 1.04 million dot vari-angle touch liquid crystal display."

Clearly, the LCD isn't going to have 104 million dots.

Sure. I don't think they're incapable per se though, probably just lazy and/or want to keep the translation as-is, trivial mistakes or not. I don't think nobody actually is incapable of figuring out what the "bali angle" means.

I think a wrong correction would be worst than leaving the machine translation 'as is'.

Well, I had to ask what "Frame cutout from 4K movie is possible" was all about as I (as a non-native English speaker) couldn't figure out what that could mean.

You'd be surprised how dense some people are.

Most native English speakers would think twice about that one too. It wasn't a very elegant phrase.
