Hello everybody.

I want to change my zoom EF 80-200 with another one a little bit longer but I don 't want to spend a lot of money, as I am awaiting 300D. I have seen the specs of TOKINA 80-400 4,5-5,6 and SIGMA 135-400 5,6. Which one is better?

Do you suggest anything else with less than 500 euros/USD?

Thank you all

i am waiting 300d.

The sigma got overall better reviews at http://www.photozone.de/2Equipment/easytxt.htm but I don't think I would get ether one! Save a bit of money and get the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 EX with the 1.4X converter, or get the Sigma 100-300 f4 EX with the 1.4X converter! you'll be glad you did!

Good Luck
Paul.

Id have to say I feel the canon 100-400L is the best zoom around. Its very sharp and has great color, has a nice wide range and its f4.5 from 100til just past 200, so it is in a sense simialr to having also a 70-200 f4 zoom.

It has IS so you can actually get alot more shoots in less than perfect conditions, i shoot mine 1/125 at 400mm for alot of shots it seems and Im quite sure than without IS they would be a bit shakier

Its a well built L lens and while not cheap, it will hold its value for a long time if you take good care of it.

Its my most expensive lens right now but the shots i get with it make me feel its worth it

I was planning on buying this lens next year until I found out that Sigma is coming out with an 80-400mm optically stabilized zoom lens. I am waiting to see what the retail price is and hear what people have to say about the quality. If I like what I hear and can save some $$$ over the 100-400, I'm going with the Sigma.
