Where to download RAW Image Converter?

Howdy all,

Well, after a computer crash I rebuilt my system. So one of the last pieces of software I needed to install was the Canon my stuff for my D60. I use XP Pro and PhotoShop 7.0, so I really don't need much off the D60 CD. But I do need the RAW Image Converter.

A trip to the Canon Site seems to indicate the Updater can be downloaded, but not the Image Converter itself. Anyone know where I can download the Canon RAW Image Converter? Yes, I know I could buy the plug-in for PS 7, but I am waiting for PS 8 to come out, and the plug in is supposed to be included with 8, so I do not want to drop $100 on the plug-in.

Any leads would be much apreciated.

Or, alternately, does anyone know another way to convert the RAW files to something more friendly?

Thanks,
Darrell

It seems the FVU utility CANNOT be downloaded from Canon, only updates. I learned this the hard way when I shot some snaps of my niece at my brother's house. I looked high and low on Canon's site and could only find the updates. Now I carry the software CD in my camera bag.

Hi Darrell,

I don't know where to get Canon's soft from, but you can download C1 LE and use it for 15 days then, when the trial period expires, download C1 Pro and use it for 30 days. That would give you 45 days.

Hopefully by then PS8 is out.

Regards,
Val

lol...yep. Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced my Canon CD. Still tearing the house apart looking for it, but no joy yet. SInce the last time I used it was about 10 months ago, icould be just about anywhere...hehe.

Thanks very much for the link.

On that note, my CD is still missing in action, so I will go do the download right now!

Have you tried Graphic Converter 4.6??
