This is the weekly Show Your Snaps thread where we invite you to show your own snapshots or even choice pictures. I'll be sure to comment about your photos, if you choose to share.

When you are posting your own images please submit them as a reply to this post. Otherwise your pictures may be overlooked. You might also consider describing your pictures in the subject title. See my own photos for this week as a reply.

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each other and it's fun to share too. Thanks everyone for your participation.

This is open to all camera systems and skill levels.

On the trip I made to the beach a couple of weeks back, here's some photos of Devil's Punchbowl including the nearby beach. Of course, you all will see that's it was very cloudy.

Photo No. 1 - We start by looking at an area north of Devil's Punchbowl.

Photo No. 2 - Then we move further south...

Photo No. 3 - ...until the point in which we see Devil's Punchbowl. It's the large hole in the rock.

Very nice Digi, and in this series I think the dark sky's adds something to the photos. Of course we all hope for the perfect sunny days . But in this case I like the dark beauty if that makes any sense at all. :)

Thanks. I'm glad you liked the darkness. I thought it was beautiful too.

I haven't taken many pictures so far this year, too much winter, and I'm too lazy.

Recently on my back deck.

And back in mid January.

Hi Digirame,

I love the dramatic skies in your photo's.

I didn't realise how big the Devil's Punchbowl was until you took the photograph looking into it.

It's amazing wherever you go along the coasts and whatever the weather you will always find a Surfer. :-)

Hi all,

Another week of freezing temps. although we've had a couple of fairly clear day's. This is the month that for me is the worst of winter, maybe I see spring looming and February is getting in the way. :-)

Parts of the canal were frozen but here the Sun was shining enough to keep it flowing. (f/9, (SS): 1/125, ISO100, EV: -0.33, PASM Mode: Aperture Priority, Metering: Evaluative, Focus Type: One Shot, FL: 17mm, Lens: Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM, Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

It's afternoon and time for a snooze for these two. (f/6.3, (SS): 1/400, ISO800, EV: 0, PASM Mode: Custom, Metering: Partial, Focus Type: AI Servo, FL: 249mm, Lens: Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD, Camera ID: Canon EOS 7D Mark II).

It's been awhile since I've seen a heron, they still feed occasionally at the Canal but they don't linger like they do in Spring/Summer. Very Nice series Mocha, I love the canal walks.

Hi Rocket13, Thanks.

It's been a hard winter this one, just the odd day where it's been good enough to enjoy a photo shoot, I hope we start seeing some improvement soon.

On a recent cycle ride through Paremata & Plimmerton near my home in Wellington, New Zealand, I visited the Mainline Steam Trust depot. Ian Welch is a Wellington-based businessman and is the man behind the Mainline Steam Trust. He is the owner of the world's largest private collection of steam locomotives. Alas no Steam loco's out today but an interesting collection of rail stock.

That's great. I like seeing squirrel looking right at us with the tail up like that.

Thanks. Our weather has changed some; today we have sunny skies. Yes, surfing is very popular.

You have such beautiful scenery. It's always good to see your photos.

Ah yes, winter with lots of cold and snow; it can be hard to get out. I did like seeing the snow and the shovel. The bird looks good too.

Your photos do show encouraging signs of spring. I sure like seeing that heron. I haven't seen a lot of them where I live lately.

It was interesting to read about the person that owns the world's largest private collection of steam locomotives on the internet, He also saved some South African locomotive engines from being sold for scrap.

I liked seeing your sunny pictures. We on the north side of the world have to remember that you all are having summer weather while we begin to thaw out from our winter.

It's so pretty around there with all of that blue sky and water. The scenes are so beautiful.
